1. Honey Pie 2. I Will ( like this but must go when compared to piggies and Happiness ) 3. Birthday ( best birthday song ever but still not best here) Glad Helter Skelter went through Manson is one scary MF. American comedian Rich Hall has a show on BBC called the Rich Hall Fishing Show set on a Scottish Loch. Manson is a recurring character " I'm A Charles Manson not THE Charles Manson " he complains when his identity is pointed out. In one episode he is selling ceiling fans from a trailer/caravan, when it's pointed out he has a swastika on his forehead he claims it is a tatoo of a ceiling fan. Odd show but quite funny, each show ends with Canadian Mike Wilmot and Hall interviewing a minor UK celebrity(usually an irritating one) on a rowing boat. They are rowed out on the loch and then dispatched in the style of Fredo in Godfather 2

Great news! The John Lennon: Imagine DVD is finally being released again. It's been out of print for years, and bootleg copies were being sold in the vicinity of $50 on eBay. John Lennon: ImagineI'm not good at reviewing movies, but I found an excellent customer review on Amazon: December 8, 1980 - New York City "John Lennon, the guiding spirit of The Beatles, dead tonight at 40."
Those immortal words at the end of the movie bring tears to everyone who was a fan of John Lennon. I remember hearing and seeing that news report from a hospital bed at 6 years old. It was and always will be a tragic memory. The man who resurfaced after a 5 year absence with a powerhouse of music destined for new life had been cut short just a few hours after an interview where he said:
"My work won't be finished until I'm dead and buried. And I hope that's a long, long time."
The long time was 2-3 hours.
The movie is an intimate portrait of Lennon's life and legacy. It exposes the chaos behind the myth, as well as the genius behind the man. With all the tales from friends, associates, Paul, George, Ringo, and George Martin on "The Beatles Anthology," this one focuses on Lennon's life in his own words and home videos. Taken directly from the archives of the man himself, there has never been a better documentary on Lennon. From Liverpool beginnings to the end in New York City, watch the boy become a superstar, the superstar into a man, and the man become a legend.
Remember John Lennon 1940 - 1980
Robert Eldridge (...) This is an amazing, deeply powerful and moving documentary. If you haven't seen it yet... pre-order your copy now.

That ends Round 35. This time we lose "I Will" and "Honey Pie". BEATLES SONG SURVIVOR - ROUND THIRTY-SIXAll the songs this round are from The Beatles ( The White Album). As before, vote off two of the following songs, and list an alternate third choice that will only be used as a tie-breaker if needed. The three surviving songs from this round will be brought back later in the game to compete with the other rounds' survivors. 1. "Savoy Truffle" (Harrison); Lead vocal: Harrison 2. "Martha My Dear" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney 3. "Long, Long, Long" (Harrison); Lead vocal: Harrison 4. "I'm So Tired" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney 5. "The Continuing Story of Buffalo Bill*" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney, Harrison, Starr and Ono (When I end a round and start the next, I'll need to take the songs from the previous round down so that the next round's songs will fit on the website. Therefore the links in each round will still show up, but they won't work once that round has ended.)You can join in the game anytime. You don't need to have been voting from the beginning to play.
*EDIT: "The Continuing Story of BUNGALOW Bill". Thanks LP.

1 Martha My Dear 2 Savoy Truffle 3 The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
I love "The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill ", even with Yoko's "vocals" because I think they're supposed to be grating. I think it's those little touches, all these things that shouldn't have worked but which do, that make The White Album my favorite Beatles album behind Revolver.
I'm glad "Piggies" made it to the next round... it must have been close.

Nae bother Matt I actually enjoy the humour in this song. Apparently the Bill of the title was a big game hunter encountered by the Beatles in India - judging by the tone of the song I assume the fab four did not share his views on animal welfare. Favourite line : "He went out Tiger hunting with his Elephant and gun, Incase of accidents he always took his Mum" The "ay up!" that segues into While My Guitar Gently Weeps, reminds me of the kind of catchphrase a British music-hall comedian might use. It's a kind of informal greeting used in North England ( apologies to anyone from north England if this is wrong )
