True.

It is getting close to the stage now when tossing a coin is looking like an option.   ;D      When this started I never thought it would be so difficult. I thought I knew the one I wanted to come top, now..... well there have been songs I had forgotten and others that I like better than I remembered them.  Tastes change over the years but the love of the Beatles, for me , never alters.

I'm surprised to see "Let It Be" come up so often, even if it is the third choice. I always thought it was one of their most monumental songs.

Well, it was a tough round, with basically four huge classic songs in competition, but for me, I voted the way I did because not only have I have played these songs a thousand times on my turn-table/cassette player/cd player, but I've also heard them a thousand more times on the radio, so I voted to keep "For You Blue" and "Don't Let Me Down" because I've heard them less times, and when it comes to Lennon songs, well, his just seem to hold up better after ten-thousand listens (with many exceptions, of course).  Were I a new listener of the Beatles, I'm sure I would have voted differently.  Now this is a tough round....

1 You Never Give Me Your Money
2 Something
3 I Want You (She's So Heavy)

It's a coin toss.  All I know is I want "Two of Us" to survive.

Just in case any one hasn't thought to look this up, here is the official John Lennon website:

John Lennon

It includes videos, photos, drawings, and wallpapers, among other things.

1) You Never Give Me Your Money
2) Oh! Darling

3) Something

I think Paul's vocals on "Oh! Darling" are perfect. He's got a great rock voice when he uses it.

"Something" deserves to go to the next round, but I also don't want to lose "Two of Us" (looks like it's gonna stick around at this point) and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" is one of my all-time favorites... can't vote against that.

Another coin flipper

1.You Never Give Me Your Money
2.I Want You (She's so Heavy)
3.Two Of Us - hope it stays though

Oh! Darling and Something are just huge favourites of mine. I think Paul's vocals are stunning on Oh! Darling great straight forward rock and roll - love it. Something is a hugely impressive track showing George well and truly the equal of his two band mates as a song writer.

That ends Round 67. We had a tie, so I had to use the point system. Here's how the points racked up:  "You Never Give Me Your Money" -  27; "Oh! Darling" - 16; "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" - 12; "Something" - 4; "Two of Us" - 1.  So, we lose "You Never Give Me Your Money" and "Oh! Darling".

BEATLES SONG SURVIVOR - ROUND SIXTY-EIGHT

As before, vote off two of the following songs, and list an alternate third choice that will only be used as a tie-breaker if needed. The three surviving songs from this round will be brought back later in the game to compete with the other rounds' survivors.

1.  "Golden Slumbers" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney
2.  "Carry That Weight" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney, with Lennon
3.  "Here Comes The Sun"  (Harrison); Lead vocal: Harrison, with Lennon and McCartney
4. "Come Together" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon
5.   "The End" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney, with Lennon and Harrison

All the songs in this round are from the Abbey Road album.

(When I end a round and start the next, I'll need to take the songs from the previous round down so that the next round's songs will fit on the website. Therefore the links in each round will still show up, but they won't work once that round has ended.)

You can join in the game anytime. You don't need to have been voting from the beginning to play.

An easy round.  :)

1) Golden Slumbers
2) Carry That Weight

3) The End  (LOVE the three lead guitars, George, Paul and John switching back and forth... it rocks!)

1-  Golden Slumbers
2-  The End

3- Carry That Weight

An easy round. :)

At first I didn't think it was,but looking at Come Together and Here Comes The Sun as the two standouts,it was just a matter of ranking the other three.( Which changed as I was typing this ) :-\
