That ends Round 68.  This time we lose "Golden Slumbers" and "The End".

BEATLES SONG SURVIVOR - ROUND SIXTY-NINE

This is the final round for the second run-through. There are only four songs in this round. We'll still be voting as usual, and two songs will go this round.

1.  "Polythene Pam" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney and Harrison (From Abbey Road)
2.  "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney, with Lennon and Harrison (From Abbey Road)
3.  "Because"  (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, McCartney and Harrison
4. "I Me Mine" (Harrison); Lead vocal: Harrison, with McCartney (From Let It Be)

(When I end a round and start the next, I'll need to take the songs from the previous round down so that the next round's songs will fit on the website. Therefore the links in each round will still show up, but they won't work once that round has ended.)

You can join in the game anytime. You don't need to have been voting from the beginning to play.

This is another easy round for me. The magic of side 2 of Abbey Road is how they were able to take a bunch of half-songs and work them together into great medleys. When you disconnect them, although they're still enjoyable, I don't think they're nearly as "magical". So, away with....

1) She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
2) Polythene Pam

3) Because (beautiful song, but I prefer "I Me Mine".)

That ends Round 69. This time we lose "Polythene Pam" and "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window".

And now, we go back to the beginning again:

BEATLES SONG SURVIVOR - ROUND SEVENTY

As before, vote off two of the following songs, and list an alternate third choice that will only be used as a tie-breaker if needed. The three surviving songs from this round will be brought back later in the game to compete with the other rounds' survivors.

1.  "Love Me Do" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney, with Lennon (From Please Please Me)
2.  "Please Please Me" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney and Harrison (From Please Please Me)
3.  "I Saw Her Standing There" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney, with Lennon (From Please Please Me)
4. "Twist and Shout" (Russell/Medley); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney and Harrison (From Please Please Me)
5.   "From Me To You"  (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney (From Past Masters Vol. 1)

(When I end a round and start the next, I'll need to take the songs from the previous round down so that the next round's songs will fit on the website. Therefore the links in each round will still show up, but they won't work once that round has ended.)

1) Love Me Do
2) From Me To You

3) Twist and Shout (Almost went with "Please Please Me", but may as well get rid of the last cover versions this time around.)

By my calculations it will take 93 rounds to get to the final 29 songs and 102 rounds to get to the final 11 songs.

Which I think will be between Christmas and the New Year.
I think it would be cool if the winner was announced on New Year's Day.

I think so too. But, after this third run-through, I'll probably cut the rounds down to three songs, and we'll vote off one per round. Haven't really decided yet for sure.

EDIT:  Actually, it looks like we'll still have over 40 songs after this third run-through, so I may wait until after the fourth run-through to cut down the size of the rounds. Still haven't decided.  ;)
