So, I finally have time to start this topic I mentioned in another discussion.  8)

Share with us experiences from the places you've visited. You can tell what you liked/didn't like about the place.  :)

I've been in France, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Spain (the Canary Islands), and Greece. I liked all those places. :)

In Paris, my cellphone got stolen and I didn't feel or notice anything and neither did my mom. The thieves there are very clever with their hands. ;D Luckily, it was an old phone. It was time for a change. 8) Still, it was a good holiday.

In the Canary Islands I was with my grandmother and my brother. The men there really like blondes from the northern countries and I, as a blonde, got disturbed all the time. Even wimmen, who sold hair pieces on the streets, didn't leave me alone.  ;D :D

The town we were in, Playa del Ingles, was a place were tourists visit a lot. There was some carnival when we were there and the party kept going all night long. My granny didn't get much sleep, but I slept well. The holiday in whole went well, I think I would have been more annoyed by the disturbing men, if I had been older. ::)

Let's see ... I've been to Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland ... the United Kingdom (England and Scotland there), Ireland ... Greece, (briefly, on a cruise) Egypt ... and Canada. And Liechtenstein, if that counts. (And if that counts, I should add Vatican City.)

Plus the U.S. I think that's all.

In recent years, though, I've only made one trip out of the U.S. and that was last summer, to Sweden.

I've never been to Finland.  :-\

I liked 'em all!  ;)

I've been to Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, France, and Switzerland a number of times.  I often have to go on business to Korea, China (mainland, Taiwan, & HK), Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Singapore (where I'm staying these days).

The only country that makes me feel unsafe is Bangladesh - I really don't like traveling there...The most fun in Europe is Portugal, and the most fun in Asia is the Philippines.  The title for most "naturally beautiful" has to go to Switzerland, though the Philippines comes in a close second.

Some crazy things have happened to me on the road, mostly in Asia...Some I'm even capable of telling in mixed company  8)   The latest was chasing a macaque monkey that stole my friends purse at a Hindu temple in Bali.

I've never been to Finland.  :-\

Finland(as Monty Python put it)

Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I want to be,
Pony trekking or camping,
Or just watching TV.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
It's the country for me.
You're so near to Russia,
So far from Japan.
Quite a long way from Cairo,
Lots of miles from Vietnam.

Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I want to be,
Eating breakfast or dinner,
Or snack lunch in the hall.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
Finland has it all.

 You're so sadly neglected,
And often ignored,
A poor second to Belgium,
When going abroad.

Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
Finland has it all.

Finland, Finland, Finland.
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
Finland has it all.

Finland has it all...

Quite accurate description of our beloved country  ;D ;D

Yeah, I love that song. 8)

I've been to Finland, but VERY briefly.  I was driving back from northern Norway, through Sweden, and  passed through Finland en route.  I had to get back home by a certain date, so didn't have time to hang out, or I would have stopped a while.  I only got out out of my car once, to answer nature's call in the woods....but dang, they were beautiful woods! ;D  Seriously, the amount of lichen shows how little pollution there is up there.  It's a great place that I'd love to explore more.

Well at least Finland ain't the only one...here's my list. ;)

In chronological order of first visit:

Bred and born in England.

Denmark
Scotland x lots (and lived there for 5 years)
France x lots, and worked one and a bit summers.
Germany x 2
Austria x 2
Spain x 4
Wales x dunno how many times
Italy x 2
Switzerland x 2
Belgium x 3
The Netherlands
Poland
Hungary
Slovakia
Czech Republic
(Vatican)
Monaco
Iceland x 2 (inc. a whole summer)
Norway x 2 (One and a half summers)
Cyprus
Finland - just. ;)
Sweden
USA x 2

Canada

Can't pick a favourite, I liked them all.

Most beautiful: Norway and southwest USA
Most ill-at-ease: dodgy bits of Krakow, Poland and any night train in eastern Europe.
Scariest experience: Iceland
Best urban place to sleep rough: Belgium
Best wild camping: Norway

True, I live in Oulu.  :)

Lapland is truly an amazing place, I love it there. I've been in Lapland many times, in place called "Lemmenjoki". If I translate it into english it would be something like "Loveriver". Beautiful place. The national park of Lemmenjoki is the biggest in Finland. I'd have many stories to tell you about that place, we've hiked there many times.

Once a tame reindeer joined us and walked with us for 11 kilometres. The reindeer's name was Lodge. We got to know it's story when we got back from the hike. During winters, it works in Saariselkä as a sled reindeer and during summers it is taken to Lemmenjoki. There it walks with the hiking tourists.  :)

This picture was taken by my mom, I'm standing there on top of the waterfall. :D The water was drinkable, and tasted so fresh. I've never drank water that good before. :)
