Cool.  8)  Thanks vik.

I remember looking at Gary Ibsen's Carmel tomato site before - he had lovely pictures of tomatoes, and some nice ones of Clint at the Carmel TomatoFest in previous years.  http://www.tomatofest.com/

I see he asked Clint's permission. O0

Gary Ibsen's site is great! It's tomato season in the greenmarkets here ... I love sampling all the exotic varieties. No "Clint Eastwood Rowdy Reds" around here though ... and I'm sorry to note, there don't seem to be any seeds available on Ibsen's site, either.

Maybe some day ...

Yeah, he seems like a cool guy with a great passion. 8)  Ever since I saw that site I wanted to go to Carmel while the TomatoFest was on.  Mouthwatering stuff!

Yeah, no mention of the Rowdy Reds, but I bet they'll be added soon.  Then we can all grow our own little Rowdy tomato plants! :D  There's a new CEWB competition - Best "Clint Eastwood Rowdy Red" Grower.

I'd love to go to see all those lovely tomatoes.  I wish we could find all those colours over here.  You are right KC the site is a bit confusing.

Gary Ibsen's Carmel TomatoFest(R) Releases Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red Alongside New Seed Varieties to Home Gardeners
Monday March 6, 3:11 pm ET

CARMEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2006--Gary Ibsen's Carmel TomatoFest® is releasing Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red tomato seeds together with more than 450 "best tasting" worldwide tomato varieties. Introduced to the public for the first time last September at Gary Ibsen's Carmel TomatoFest®, the new variety is now being offered exclusively through TomatoFest® Garden Seeds at www.tomatofest.com along with Gary Ibsen's Heirloom Tomato Seed Collections.

"Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red is a tomato rich in color, firmness and bold, tomatoey flavors inviting both feasting and seed-saving," said Ibsen. "I've been growing numerous un-named varieties 'on trial' for several years and this variety in particular, I found to be outstanding! With Clint's permission, I chose to name it Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red, after his character named Rowdy Yates in the old Rawhide television series."

Brendan,   Thank you for the tomatofest website.   I see they ship worldwide.    I will look into growing some of the Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red tomatoes.  They sound lovely.

I think it was Lilly who first came up with the Tomatofest site ... anyway, Lin, let us know how you make out with your Rowdy tomatoes!  ;)
