Another Icelandic article from Víkurfréttir, with three photos including this one from the air.

Look at that lovely lava...I hope the crew have taken their geologising kit with them! ;)

I think they started last Friday, 12th August.  But I guess it takes a while and they'll be on the beaches for some time. :)

He arrived last Thursday, 11th August.  But it seems they were doing preparatory work before he arrived, like teaching the soldier extras and doing the safety drills. :)  I suppose they have to cover themselves for law suits, and minimise chance of accidents.

There is so much more 'news' about the filming of Flags Of Our Fathers than there was about Million Dollar Baby so I feel we can be with it from start to finish.   Maybe in the States there was more information on Million Dollar Baby but in the UK I didn't see very much until it was finished.  The posts have been great with video links and news from Iceland.   I look forward to seeing the new details posted here each day.   I think this is going to be one terrific movie.

Vik, I fixed your link to make it a "titled link." Long URLs like that distort the shape of the page.  :)

Thanks, Sean!  That's a great article. O0  I like this bit:

Quote
Eastwood had a loose, informal interaction with his actors, coaching as if by suggestion. "This is the method of acting where you get your brain empty and everything else is spontaneous," he said at one point.

Nice pic, vik, cheers.

Yep, THIS one.

But being Icelanders they're more likely to be keeping their strength up with coffee and the yummy pastries you get there. 8)
