Hi there!
Dirty Harry, along with The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is my favourite Clint Eastwood movie and it's in my top 10 movies of all time. It's a perfect movie with great cinematography, great music, Clint is cool and Andy Robinson as the Scorpio Killer almost steals the show with a memorable performance, he has to be my all time favourite movie villain.

Using a 5 star system I rate the Harry movies like this:

Dirty Harry-*****
Magnum Force-****
The Enforcer-***
Sudden impact-**
The Dead Pool-**

If you look closely at the Dead pool you'll see Clint is bored and doesn't want to be there.
However Jim Carrey, the mailman-scene and the almoust classic toy car scene do entertain, i think.
And i've used "your $#!t outta luck" in real life, i like it.
But what's with the martial arts sidekick?

The first one will always be the best.  Sudden Impact comes in second.  Magnum Force and The Enforcer are tied and The Dead Pool is last.

Maybe it would have helped if they cast Jackie Chan. ::)

My favorite harry films are in the following order

dirty harry
sudden impact
magnum force
the enforcer
death pool

with less sondra locke and more eastwood, sudden impact might even have been my number one. had they included more mobstershooting i would worship the movie on a daily basis. the scene where he gives shrelkiss a heart attack in the restaurant at his gtranddaughters wedding ALMOST beats the automagscene at the end.

The Enforcer is my favorite movie among those. Although Dirty Harry places second.

     Dirty Harry
     Magnum Force
     The Enforcer
     Sudden Impact
     The Dead Pool

While I like all five films I feel that each Dirty Harry sequel was weaker than its predecessor.   The Enforcer would get my pick for the funniest Harry film although the ending is kind of sad.

Out of the sequels Magnum Force is the only one that is almost as good as the original.

I still love the first Dirty Harry. It introduced me to Calahan and supported my beliefs that criminals are given too much freedom to decide their fate in the courts. ;D

In order from best to worst (which also happens to be chronological):

1. Dirty Harry - While The Dead Pool may have helped Jim Carrey's carreer, Dirty Harry started Andrew Robinson's. He never really became a big star, but he played one of the more memorable roles on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Dirty Harry has a great, memorable ending, which is partly why these two movies are among the best Clint Eastwood has made.

2. Magnum Force - Not a very original plot, or maybe so original that it has been copied countless times. Either way, it's a very enjoyable movie with lots of action and Dirty Harry humor.

3. The Enforcer - Tyne Daly as Harry's partner created some humorous situations, but I didn't like her character and the way interacted with Clint's character. Movies don't have to have a happy ending, but in my opinion the ending was a little too dramatic with Kate dying.

4. Sudden Impact - Sondra Locke as a psycho killer. Would've been the perfect role for her. If she could act. I don't like her at all, and it's not just the quality of her acting. I think it's her whiny voice (it worked in Bronco Billy, but not here). And what's with Harry letting her go at the end of the movie? Still, it's a good movie with some memorable quotes and famous one-liner.

5. The Dead Pool - A pretty good movie, but Harry is getting a bit old and soft. Harry has to track down another serial killer, but this time you have to guess who it is. Kinda hard to guess, because when the killer's name is finally mentioned for the first time, you already know he's the one. The Dead Pool has a couple of excellent one-liner, but I still consider it to be the worst Dirty Harry.

Yes, that too bothered me.

Magnum Force
Dirty Harry
Dead pool
The Enforcer
Sudden Impact

I walwasy thought Magnum Force was the best of all the sequals because of the dynamic cast, Eastwood, Holbrook and future stars David Soul and Robert Urich. And of course the excellent direction of Ted Post.
