Unfortunately I missed this at the local cinema.

Does anybody know the Australian DVD release date for Flags of our fathers?

WKC.

I haven't seen a release date yet,but I mentioned in another thread a couple days ago that The Departed is being released on February 28,2007 so I'm thinking that Flags should be sometime in March.

I'm on ezydvd's website almost as much as I'm on here so as soon as it's posted there,I'll post it here.

G'Day wkc,

My collection isn't that big, around 300 the last time I checked, but I'm always checking ezydvd for their bargains and the coming soon page.

Hi, wkc, errrrrrrrrrrrr philobeddoejr ... I moved your thread up here to the News forum, and edited it to change the topic title, so that we can use it to post any and all news of Flags of Our Fathers DVD release dates. Hope that's OK with you!

It's going to take me a while to get used to your new screen name!  :o  ;)

I caught the film at the theater with my father right before they stopped showing it not too long ago.  Him and I rarely go to the movies or go much of anywhere together, but we do get out and see war films from time to time.

Anyway, I will be looking forward to getting Flags of Our Fathers on DVD.  "Director's Commentary" will be my first stop if it is available as an option.

I can assure you a directors commentary won't happen. Unless it's a director of photography commentary.

Quote
DreamWorks (via Paramount) will release Flags of Our Fathers on DVD on 2/6, in separate full frame and anamorphic widescreen editions.

That's it for now. No word on features. Though we can only assume a special edition or 14 disc ultimate edition will come out next Christmas.  ::)

That does seem very soon after the release of Flags of our Fathers.   I think I will wait until there is a DVD with added features.  Like Brendon said a 14 disc special edition!   ;D ;D ;D

Since Flags and Letters are being seen as "companion" films, that 14 disc special edition is liable to include both movies. ;)

Actually, I do wonder if both movies might be offered together in some way. Of course, it'd probably cost $40...

Probably, but only after we rush out and purchase the seperate releases. Then they'll release both films with plenty of juicy extras that weren't on the single disc editions,so we'll have to cough up more money for that.

I'm a little suprised we still haven't got a release date for the Flags DVD down here.Usually when a film fails at the cinema it's released on DVD as soon as possible.

Amazon.com currently has Flags of Our Fathers ranked at number 6 on its DVD bestseller list, and the release is still a few weeks away. O0 But still no details on any special features yet.

Still no release date for region 4. I'm a little peeved at this since looking at ezydvd's website they've got release dates for films that are still on at the cinema here.Eragon,Borat,Night At The Museum. :o

Better be loaded with extras  >:(

A director's commentary would be the icing on the cake.
