As many of you have noticed, this board has been updated. Unfortunately due to the fact that the old board had so may hacks and tweaks, running any update out of the box removes those old hacks and in some cases brings on new problems. I am working on solving these but there are many bugs that are present right now that will need to be dealt with in the short term. There are still some major things I am working on that might take days/weeks to resolve. Please post any MAJOR issues you have seen or email them to me directly.  Thanks for your patience!

PS - The sporadic SERVER ERROR screen that appears is due to sotware my WEB HOST uses to manage all the sites. They are aware of the issue but can not tell me when this will be fixed. I am VERY disappointed with this answer but will keep you all posted. Please contact me if this becomes more frequent so I can let them know. Thanks.

Just made some more major changes to this board.  Please report any weirdness you might see, such as white pages with no style, etc.  Hopefully everyone still sees the Western/wood theme. Thanks.

I keep getting switched over to the Dark colour and some of the text on the main board is small.

UPDATE: The new board code is conflicting with the style sheet switcher which was another tweak I did long ago. All these tweaks are  the reason for the board bugs lately so my goal is to standardize everything and avoid code hacks and tweaks. I have upgraded this board to the latest version so it is now standardized with the exception of this style switcher issue. Still working on a fix but in the mean time I have had to disable it. So currently there is one style - DARK. If I cant get a fix, the next solution will be to create a new THEME that this board now supports natively and incorporate the MOCHA look. I originally created this when this board did not support themes, but now its caught up and can be done via other methods. PLEASE be patient during this time. Will keep you posted. Thanks.

PS - Firefox users can STILL use the MOCHA style via their browser... just go to VIEW/PAGE STYLE and select MOCHA. IE users are out of luck for now.

Yay, thanks for preserving Mocha for Firefox people, at least! :)

And thanks again for all the work you're doing on this, Cal! 8)

EDIT: Unfortunately, for me at least, the View - Page style workaround has to be done every single time you change the page (like when you click into or out of a thread or submit a message etc.).  :-\

Still working on that Mocha bug. I am staying optimistic. On another note I have recoded some things so that the text resize works using the browser. Before it was hard set and IE would not let you do this. Now if you want to increase or descrease the font size it can be done in all browsers. I just leave it at Medium/Normal though. Peace.

I really like the new way the board fetches a preview of a post, rather than reloading the whole page.  Also little things like the number of times a thread has been read now being displayed at the top of the thread. 8)

It occurs to me that Firefox users can customize the look of the board pretty much as we want, using the Greasemonkey extension, with an appopriate user script. 8)  With that you can have an endless choice of styles.  I started writing a user script to substitute Mocha styles for Dark ones, meaning that hardcore mocha users wouldn't have to keep changing the page style manually, but it's late and I haven't finished it yet.  But if anyone wants more choices, that's a way to do it.

No doubt Cal will soon have a much more elegant solution, I just like an excuse to play with Firefox! ;D

If you are using Firefox 2 or IE 7, you can subscribe to any board forum via RSS feeds. Just click on the browsers "feed" button when it lights up on a page you want to subscribe to. Just FYI.  8)

I noticed the pages load quite a bit quicker on my mobile phone. Looks nicer too.

Just have to say it somewhere ... I love, love, love the "Unread posts since last visit" feature. It makes keeping up with everything that goes on here SO much easier!

Thanks, Cal!

You could have accidentally changed it yourself. I've done that a few time with my mouse.

If you're using Mozilla Firefox you can goto View --> Text Size --> Increase

If you're using Internet Explorer goto View --> Text Size --> Medium and/or Larger
