What do you think of Eastwood's performance as the Preacher in Pale Rider? Discuss scenes in which you feel his performance is the most enjoyable, and describe what in particular you like about it. Is there anything you dislike?

I think Clint's performance in Pale Rider is absolutely wonderful. He plays a man of mystery so amazingly well. There is a calm, and cool demeanor about the character Preacher that I love. Till this day, it's still one of my favorite Clint performances. It will always be for that matter.

There's a couple scenes that stand out for me in particular that made Clint's performance to me enjoyable. The stick fight scene in the beginning of the film when Preacher suddenly appears. The scene was not supposed to be funny, but their is a bit of comic relief on Clint's part on the way he acts as he takes all the bullies out one by one and just walks away like it was an easy day's work. I found Clint's acting wonderful here and so funny.

I also absolutely love the scene where Sydney Penny's character Megan offers herself to Clint. The way Clint acted this scene out was so believable. You actually see that he was flattered and a bit shocked at what he was hearing but how he turned her down was what made the scene memorable. Clint totally sells his character here. Without the proper acting, this scene would not have worked.

Clint has the ability to get inside the character and take you with him.  As the Preacher he doesn't allow you to get inside and I think this is one of the best parts of his performance.   Right form the start to the very end the mystery about the Preacher holds your interest and you try so hard to understand who he really is.   There are a number of scenes I especially like.......the one when he let's Megan down,  when he is hammering away at the huge stone,  his appearance and disappearance during the early stages of the shootout, his riding off into the hills at the end.

I can't say I dislike any of the scenes I just like some more than others.
