I`m off to LA tomorrow and was hoping that someone here could tell me exactly where Clints star is situated on the Hollywood walk of fame as this is the only star I want to see and I don`t particularly want to walk around with my head facing the pavement for any length of time!!

After I`ve been there, I`m off to San Francisco for a week.  Is there an official Dirty Harry tour running there?  Alternately, a good quality "movie tour" of the city.

Obviously I`ll do Alcatraz.  This will be my second visit.

Thanks.

Sorry, Davy, but Clint doesn't have a star on the Walk of Fame. The consensus is that he feels it's not worth the $15,000 it takes to purchase this "honor."

This is a question that's come up here a few times before ... you can read about it in these threads:

Walk Of Fame from 2002-2005

the star that is or isn't from 2003

Does Clint Have a Star on the Walk of Fame? from 2004

From the second link above, here's a great post by D'Ambrosia:

As I have stated in the earlier thread it’s much more of an honor to be “inscribed” at the Grauman’s Chinese theater, or as its known now as Mann’s theater.

Clint’s inscription is in the elite zone exclusivly reserve for the Hollywood superstars…

Clint Eastwood, Ceremony 151, August 21, 1984

Anyone with 15 grand can "buy a star"  but to be imprinted outside the theater is the real sign of stardom...

You can read about Grauman's Chinese Theatre and see a list of the stars immortalized there in this Wikipedia article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grauman's_Chinese_Theater

There's also a good feature here:

http://www.seeing-stars.com/Theatres/ChineseTheatre.shtml

If do want to check out the Walk of Fame and locate the stars of other Hollywood "legends," like Britney Spears and the Olsen twins, the official directory is here:

http://www.tibp.com/cgi-bin/foxweb.dll/wlx/dir/wlxdirectory?cc=WOFAME

As for a "Dirty Harry tour," there isn't an official one. There used to be a website with lots of locations and pictures, but it's down. However,  check out this thread:
Dirty Harry filming locations

You could probably work out a pretty good "do it yourself" tour with the help of the information on this site (linked to in the above thread):

http://www.filminamerica.com/Movies/DirtyHarry/

Good luck, and enjoy your trip!

There's one prime spot that has been reserved. "Clint Eastwood has been approved," Martinez-Holler says. "I have one spot left in front of the Chinese Theatre, and I am holding it for him. Put that out there. His people have said no, but maybe he'll change his mind. He has children. It's historical. Who wouldn't want this?"

Clint was not there then, Di Caprio either!?      They were very busy at moment !!    ;)

Higashimori posted the above in the "2011 Academy Awards Thread" in the Off Topic forum, but it seemed to me it belongs in one of the old threads we've had about Clint's lack of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so I've merged it with the most recent one I could locate. It's not about the Oscars.
