Thanks Doug,  I found the choices really interesting.   I am surprised Tightrope didn't get more votes.  :o

I am surprised that The Enforcer did not get any votes. It is my second favorite Dirty Harry movie.

Unforgiven won by a pretty decent margin.

Wow, to bad for Space Cowboys.

5 Points: Dirty Harry

4 Points: Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
               The Beguiled
               Unforgiven

3 Points: In the Line of Fire
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

2 Points: The Outlaw Josey Wales
               Play Misty for Me

1 Point: High Plains Drifter
             Letters from Iwo Jima
I watched Dirty Harry again about a week ago, and really, it's tough for me to say what my favorite overall Eastwood movie is. I would probably have to rewatch various movies, and redo a list. I've always loved Dirty Harry but some of that is sentimental.

I didn't see one(1) vote for 'The Eiger Sanction'. :'( Hmm. Maybe i'm in a select group(myself), I thought this was one of his best. I like to see the uniqueness of an actor, especially and obviously when they go beyond they're stereo-typical role, and nail it. This was defineatly one of his best, if I say so. O0

5 points:
Unforgiven

4 points :
Honkeytonk Man
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Million Dollar Baby

3 points:
High Plains Drifter
Dirty Harry

2 points:
Every Which Way But Loose
A Perfect World

1 point
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
In The Line Of Fire

I would have to say now that I would knock High Plains Drifter down to the two point spot and insert Gran Torino in the three spot. I would put EWWBL in the one spot and lose In The Line Of Fire even though I love Clint's performance in it.

This wasn't really a game, but a specific topic started by Doug around four years ago "to determine a definitive (for now) Top Ten list" of Eastwood films ... a consensus of active members here. People voted according to a weighted ranking system that Doug devised, and he determined the list on the basis of those votes. That list went here:

http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/index.php?topic=7118.0

Duncan73 re-opened the topic to post his personal "top ten" list, which doesn't really belong in this thread. I can't remember whether there's a topic for "personal top ten" lists around somewhere, but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to start one? :)

I found these:

There could be more.  I know there has to be at least one, if not more, specifically for his westerns, too.  Not counting at least one ranking the Dirty Harry films.  I once considered starting a thread where we could rank every film by decade, but you know....

Thanks, Doug! The later of those two is from 2005. Maybe it is time for a new one?

This was very cool. Maybe Doug would consider doing it again.

Is MDB better than OJW, or is it just that MDB was so new when the poll was done. I think the results would vary this time.

I also think the BOMC might have had a slight bump due to a small fan section that doesn't seem to be here now.

Is it time for a redux?
