Nice to hear from you, Chessie! :)

Ditto.

Everyone else who hasn't voted, you got two weeks left!  Come on, put in your voice.  I find it very odd that The Outlaw Josey Wales has only one first place vote.  I know there's a lot more of you that rank that movie #1, so where are you?  If you're waiting until the last moment, that's cool.  I just don't want you to forget.

This is really hard—I don't like lists, and rankings. This is what I've come up with tonight. Ask me again in a month and everything might be different, except for the top spot!

5 points:
Unforgiven

4 points:
Letters from Iwo Jima
The Bridges of Madison County
Million Dollar Baby

3 points:
Bird
A Perfect World

2 points:
High Plains Drifter
The Outlaw Josey Wales

1 point
Tightrope
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Though I'd really rather move the last four up to the 3 point level and pick four more for the last spots ...  :D

Anyway, thanks, Doug, for thinking of this and coming up with the rating system. I'm curious to see how it turns out!

The final results are in.  I made a nice, clean topic just for the results HERE, so that we could use this thread for any discussion.  First of all, I know top ten lists mean nothing, but they can still be fun to discuss and I was really curious how the members of this site would vote.  Twenty-six people voted.  I was really hoping for more, but then I figured a realistic goal was thirty, and we came pretty close.  I know there are several diehard fans of The Outlaw Josey Wales here, so I really expected it to get more first place votes and place a little higher, but fifth place isn't so bad.

My biggest disappointment is that Bird didn't make the top ten, and in fact barely made the top twenty.  So that tells me there's a few of you out there who need to see that movie again and see if you can't appreciate one of Clint Eastwood's finest creations.   ;) As a good surprise, I see A Perfect World came in at nineth, and that's always been one of my favorite Eastwood films, and one that I think is way underappreciated by the general movie watching population.

Unforgiven was far and away the people's choice as top movie, getting the most overall votes (23 out of 26 possible) and the most number one votes at 13.

I'll put all the results in this thread too.

Great job with all this Doug. Very well done. O0

I was pleased to see 8 out of top 10 films were the ones I picked. Although as KC said:

Thank you Doug. This was fun man. I am glad that A Perfect World made it into the top 10 and Honkeytonk Man made it to number 13.

Thanks, glad you found it interesting.

I wanted to make a list of which feature films since the release of Fistful of Dollars received no votes, not even one point.  Not many surprises.

The Witches
Paint Your Wagon
Joe Kidd
The Eiger Sanction
The Enforcer
Firefox
City Heat
The Dead Pool
Pink Cadillac
The Rookie
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
Absolute Power
True Crime
Space Cowboys
Blood Work

Of those I'd say Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is the best overall film, though there are some pretty decent movies there.

I'll say ... If I'd had more votes than I did, I would have given at least one to The Eiger Sanction, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, True Crime, and Space Cowboys.

So, at least one person voted for Breezy?

Doug, would it be too much trouble to list all the films that got any votes, and their totals?  ???

Sure.  As well, I added The Witches to the list of films without a vote, since technically it's a feature film that was eligible due to Eastwood's co-starring role.
