This seems to have caught has become a yearly tradition. We have some new members who may not know what exactly this is so here's some examples and explanation:

Basically we keep track of what movies we watched throughout the year. I like to add them up at the end of the month and then keep a running total for the year. Some people like to give star ratings as well. It's up to you. There's really no format and it's up to you if you want to colour code everything.

The second post is in case we watch so many movies that we run over the "character limit" that the board allows for a single post. Meaning you can only type so much before you run out of "space". In the first movie journal thread (2005) some of us needed a second "page" and had to end up separating our posts/journals. So last year and this year we would do a double post so our full journals could stay together. Though depending on how many movies you watch AND if you use a colour coding system, like some of us do, you might not need the second post. In 2005 I watched 246 movies and colour coded everything. So I needed a second post. In 2006 I watched 124 movies and scaled back on the colour coding, so I didn't need a second post. Same with 2007.

Some people like to link their journals in there "signature". Check out your profile options for more info. I like to see what I've watched over the year and what I was into at certain times. I also like to see what others are watching just in case if we've seen the same thing recently.

There's really no rules for the journals. I do have my own set of "standards" but I've never mentioned them. Basically if I start a movie, for example, on April 30th at 11:59pm I count it was being watched on that day rather then May 1st even though I pretty much watched the whole movie on May 1st. If I watch a movie halfway through (which happened with one movie once) I don't count it and don't put it down.

You can join up if you want. It doesn't matter if you don't watch a lot of movies. It's just for fun. In 2005 I planned on watching all of Eastwoods movies (that I own) in order of release. It's taken me two years to get to High Plains Drifter.  So it's pretty neat to go back and see what I was watching two years ago. I've noticed that I've seen some movies I don't even remember watching until I look at my journal.
