This is the first I'd heard of the earthquake off the coast of Japan ...

Stay safe Gant!

Always nice to hear from you, Canadian Lady! :)

In New York, it's 39° F = 3.89 C, and windy ... I was thinking it was cold, but after reading CL's post, I've changed my mind! :o

Woah. I was worried about Higgy -- no idea you were there too.
I'm in Tokyo right now and felt those tremors last night.. Thought my room was gonna shake apart..,

When we watched NHK World the day before yesterday, the screen turned red and suddenly the Breaking News began!! :o :o
I was feeling very uneasy reminding me of 2011 3 .11!!  ??? :(  And I worried about my friends' safety in the Kanto region and were calling!
Fortunately, the tsunami like 5 years ago did not occur and I was relieved!!

OMG!! Gant was in Tokyo?  I am glad that you are safe!!
But please be careful during your stay in Japan. Because it can still happen! ???
Please cover your head with a hat when you are going out! And when your are in room and if  you encounter a big earthquake, you escape to the toilet but do not close the door!!    In addition the weather forecast predicted that the snowfall in Tokyo !! :o   (And again it already snowed two weeks ago in PARIS !!  :o)

Take care of you Gant and hope you enjoy Japan anyway!! :)

Remarks,
2016 is a year with 13 new moons! And there was the greatest super moon too!!  Unfortunately they do not seem to have a positive impact on the attraction of the moon!   In Japan, for example, there was a great earthquake that occurred in Kyushu in April and Hokkaido was hit by the typhoon for the first time and suffered great damage!  :(     Ecuador, Italy also suffered by the great earthquakes!  :(   And in other parts of the world there were many damage from floods caused by typhoons!  :(

And 2016 is not over yet!  What will happen from now?  ???
In any case I just pray safety for you all !!

We've had snow,  which has melted now, as it's 54 degrees F. Hard to remember it was as cold as 17 degrees on Friday.

We've had a really unusual few days here in TN.  High winds nearly constant for two days -- tornado warnings last night. It must have been nearly 80 degrees yesterday afternoon, and then I woke up to a snow dusting this morning.

:o  We had that sort of thing a few weeks ago in Ohio. It was maybe over 70 degrees one day and the temperature dropped drastically the next.

I mentioned about the ice all this weekend though. We got hit with some freezing rain Friday and Saturday nights. The temperature did get a little above freezing yesterday, but not so much today. You can see ice on individual blades of grass walking around the yard. It looks cool, especially trees, but driveways are all slippery.

We had about -15-20C (5F- -4F) before but now it looks like we're getting an english weather. 0C (32F), and foggy. Raindrops here and there. We have snow but I hope it doesn't melt away before Christmas. Luckily, during the night it's close to -5C (23F).

It's looking like by next Saturday, the temperature will be 40 degrees F. so there won't be a white Christmas this year. And it shouldn't be an icy one either, which is great.

We had our first 40ºC day on Thursday.  :o

I drove to work Friday morning just after 2am and the temp was still 28ºC. Thank God for air conditioning.  8)
