Forgot my password so had to go through all those steps to retrieve it! That's what I get for being away so long.
Anyway, I am fine. I live in Katy, TX which is about 25 miles west of Houston. We got over 30 inches at my house but, thankfully, no flooding. My son lives about five minutes from me and he is fine, too. There were some major concerns for a while because I live where a bayou runs behind my house (part of a Federal Reserve) but it never even threatened. The scariest part for us, if there really was one, is that our subdivision was cut off from the rest of the world for about 36 hours. It's a strange feeling to know that no one can get to you if you need them.
Compared to everyone in this area, my concerns were minimal. Who would have thought we could get between 30 and 50 inches of rain (depending on where you lived) and NOT all be floating away. I feel so sorry for those who are suffering so much. Cleaning up and rebuilding will take forever!
I use to live in Victoria, TX and they got hit hard. I still own one rent house there and it took some serious damage. Trees were blown over...one on the roof...and knocked a big hole in it and all of the carpet was ruined. (I could send you pictures but have forgotten how to do that, too.). I've already filed a claim and the adjuster is supposed to be there by the end of the week. With the deductible, I guess that will cost a pretty penny. Ugh!
But, all in all, I am grateful I'm still here (with no major problems) and my extended family is safe. I have a great deal to be thankful for.
(Forgot how to use the smilies, too. Otherwise this post would have been more colorful. LOL)
