Simon MacCorkindale was drop-dead gorgeous! And he was only 58! It seems like just yesterday...

I remember Tom in Happy Days.   He was perfect as the father.  Happy Days was a brilliant series and besides the other things he did I think he will be best remembered for that role.

RIP Tom

I guess I remember Tom for his fine comedy acting in Happy Days and for his narration on That's Hollywood.

That's Hollywood was the tv show which got me hooked on movies. The show had Clips, interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses of films from the 20th Century Fox library. It was great seeing all this movie magic on TV once a week. It captured my imagination and helped me appreciate just how much work goes into making a motion picture.

R.I.P. Tom. :(

Funny you should "mention" Snidely Whiplash, Dane ... Alexander Anderson, the unsung creator of Rocky, Bullwinkle and the rest of the gang, just passed away.

RIP Alexander.

I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle.

I notice from the obituary Alexander died in Carmel.  It is sad to know he died suffering from Alzheimer's.  That disease often seems to hit the most talented of people.

That's a shame.
I grew quite fond of the quirky kind of humor in Rocky and Bullwinkle

Actor who played Danno on 'Hawaii Five-O' dies

Quote
LOS ANGELES - Stage and screen actor James MacArthur, who played "Danno" in the original version of television's "Hawaii Five-O," died Thursday at age 72.

MacArthur's agent, Richard Lewis, said the actor died in Florida of "natural causes," but no direct cause was specified.

In a career that spanned more than four decades, MacArthur was most recognized for his role as detective Danny "Danno" Williams on "Hawaii Five-O," which aired from 1968 to 1980. Episodes often ended with detective Steve McGarrett, the lead character, uttering what became a pop culture catch phrase: "Book 'em, Danno."

RIP James.

I used to enjoy Hawaii Five-O.  I have watched re-runs of it recently and still liked it.  I found it less dated than some of the old cop shows and thought Danno was some guy.  Sad news.

He had a memorable role as The Preacher in Hang 'Em High.  I remember James MacArthur best of all for playing Fritz Robinson in Walt Disney's Swiss Family Robinson.

R.I.P. James.  :(

I am sorry to hear sad news of Jill Clayburgh.   She played with Donald Sutherland in a TV show "Dirty Sexy Money".  I just talked about it after having met Sutherland. Sutherland will be very sad and discouraged!  :(  R.I.P Jill
