Director Peter Yates has died at the age of 81 (or 82 depending on the source).  :-\
His most famous creation was of course the crime classic Bullitt, but he made numerous other memorable films such as Murphy's War and The Friends of Eddie Coyle.

I don't know this actor, but 47 is obviously way too young.

I must say that if it weren't so sad, the first sentence of that obit would have made me raise an eyebrow in appreciation of the double irony:

Yeah, I watched Touched by an Angel for most of its run. That's the only thing I believe I ever saw him in. I saw a headline that one of the stars of the show had died, and wasn't expecting it to be him!

This morning the news told of two sad deaths.

Susannah York the lovely actress well know for her roles in both British and Hollywood movies.
She was 72 and died of cancer.

The second was Nat Lofthouse.   All football fans will know of him.  He was one of the highest goal scorers and football was his life for many, many years.

He was 85.

I know people who are in their 70's and they are so lively, so sprite. It doesn't seem that Susannah York should be gone. (I guess I'm getting old!)
