Mary Fiumara, Mother From Classic Prince Spaghetti TV Commercial, Dies

I remember the commercial on tv when I was a kid.  Never knew, until now, she was from Boston.

God Bless You, Ms. Fiumara, may you Rest In Peace.

"In the North End of Boston, Wednesday is Prince spaghetti day."

Very sad news Jed!  My dad is from Chelsea, Mass. And I've been to Boston twice once when I was 6 and again when I was 13. I watched that commercial several times tonight and it is a very heart warming commercial. Makes me feel good and remembering my visits to Boston. I showed my dad that commercial tonight and he didn't remember it because he moved away when he was 9 which was three yrs before that commercial aired. He enjoyed watching it though. We still have a ton of family in Boston and I'm sure they've seen it before. But it's cool that they were just normal people and both Anthony and her lived right down from each other. She was a terrific person from what I've read.

To Kill a Mockingbird was my favorite book I read in high school.

Earlier this week George Gaynes died at 98. He is best known for his roles in the Police Academy movies and the TV show Punky Brewster.

Tony Burton, actor from Rocky and The Shining, dies at 78

Tony Burton, who drew on his career as a prizefighter to play boxing trainer Tony "Duke" Evers in all six Rocky films, has died aged 78.

Sylvester Stallone, who stars in the franchise, led the tributes after relatives announced Burton's death in a southern California hospital from suspected pneumonia, following a long illness.

Burton, who had been living in California for 30 years, played the trainer of Apollo Creed, the antagonist of the first two Rocky films, before switching to Rocky's corner in the subsequent movies.

"Tony Burton who played the character of Duke brilliantly in all six Rocky movies... Rest in peace," Stallone said on Instagram, posting a still from Rocky IV of the pair with Apollo Creed actor Carl Weathers.

"Sad news. RIP Tony Burton. His intensity and talent helped make the Rocky movies successful," Weathers tweeted.

I am shocked. I've always really liked tony burton on both movies. And also on a lesser known movie called side out. He will be missed.

Elvis Presley's doctor, 'Dr. Nick' Nichopoulos, dies at 88

I heard about this recently.  There are those that blame him for Elvis’ death but that couldn’t be further from the truth.  If anything, he was an enabler, which is more part of the problem than the solution.  Supposedly, he tried to wean Presley off drugs but obviously his methods failed.

Patty Duke has died at the age of 69! I remember watching The Patty Duke Show as a kid, though I don't remember much about it other than I know she played two cousins in the show. I watched The Miracle Worker in school as well.
