TCM has really gone downhill. Most of the movies on there now aren't even 'Classics'. They recently had a full day of dopey Frankie Avalon beach movies.  If they had any brain cells they would consider showing other aspects to Eastwood's film career such as  'Bird', 'Breezy' or 'Letters From Iwo Jima' for starters.. Even White Hunter Black Heart would be welcome instead of the same familiar turf.

Eastwood will appear on the Tonight show tomorrow, September 6, to promote Sully. Other promotional appearances by Hanks, Sullenberger and Aaron Eckhart on upcoming talk shows are given in Dan Dassow's post here:

I can't believe I wrote "Aaron Hicks"! :o

I guess it was because I was posting during a Yankee game. Even so, Hicks is injured. You'd think I'd have written "Aaron Judge"! ;D

We had a thread about this back in the day (2010) ... http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/index.php?topic=8485.0

As mentioned there, the interview segments are no longer available through the original BBC links, so it's nice to see that the BBC has brought them back via the links Higashimori gives above. Only for 28 more days, though!

For those who can get Channel 5 out of DC (Fox5), Clint is suppose to be interviewed tomorrow (Dec 11th) during their morning news programs.  It didn't say what time and Fox 5 airs their morning new programs from 4:30am-10am.  I'm just going to DVR all of them and then do a lot of fast-forwarding to the interview.

Clint is seen briefly in this French trailer for the Bruce Weber docu on Robert Mitchum, Nice Girls Don't Stay for Breakfast.

In its review of the film (which screened at the Venice festival last year), the Hollywood Reporter said:

Quote
The celebrity interviews yield the least interesting tidbits. ... [Liam] Neeson and Clint Eastwood barely say anything of note.

The First Traveling Saleslady was on Turner Classic Movies the other day. I'd meant to post but didn't get a chance to do so before the movie was on. I believe at least a few around here have seen it. I haven't so I recorded it so I could check it out sometime.

I watched that the other day. I don't know whats more upsetting seeing a 25 year old Eastwood playing a silly role or seeing a great actress like Ginger Rogers by then doing a schlock movie like that in 1956... Ginger was still smoking looking in that movie...
