The correct and full URL for this We Board should be

http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/

If you bookmarked the IP address to get here please change over to this named URL. (This name will never change but the IP could down the road).

When you change, you may also need to add the named URL to your Trusted Sites list if you had a problem posting. For more info on this click here.

Some people have reportd not being able to see the board now. Again, this is due to the DNS name not resolving to their area yet. It will happen, it just might take longer than others. Please pass the word along  ;D

I've been unable to pull up the site ever since the domain name switched over on Sunday morning.  Withdrawal is a b!tch.  So, after trying everything under the sun, talking to Cal and the techs of my ISP, and waiting it out (and waiting... and waiting) I finally gave up and decided if my server couldn't get me on, and my backup server couldn't get me on, I'd try a third... AOL.

Man, I swore I'd never do another free trial of AOL.  Do you have any idea how many files I had to install on my hard drive to connect to them... in the HOPE that I'd be able to get on the board?  I'd guess... roughly 50,000 files.

I got on.  I disconnected and tried again through my Road Runner cable and couldn't get on.  It's COMPLETELY server related, nothing to do with computer settings or anything.  If there is anyone here who is missing the board as much as I was, if you don't mind a whole lot of crap files on your computer, you can give the ole AOL free trial a shot and you'll probably be on.

Their trial lasts 45 days, and I really hope that by the time it's over, my ISP will finally have me back on.

I'm too burned out from all this crap to even enjoy being on here right now...  gonna see if a few beers will help. :(

(Of course, anyone who can't get on the board can't read this, but if you know anyone who's having trouble, you can pass this info on.)

HEY GUYS MATT IS BACK AND READY FOR ACTION! I'm really glad that you're finally back. The board just wasn't the same without ya man! :) I can't believe you had to go through AOL though! Talk about desperate measures! Welcome back! I hope not too many of our other board members are having similar problems! I wish anyone having such problems the best of luck and hope that you can get on here real soon..hopefully without the use of AOL free trials!!

Welcome back. Tell RoadRunner (your other ISP) to get on the ball. They obviousely are NOT refreshing their DNS cache if you were able to get on via AOL.

Matt, by the way, I have Roadrunner and I haven't had any kind of problems connecting to this board. Perhaps it is just a problem in your area. I don't know but I haven't had any of your problems. Are you sure it's a Roadrunner issue???

My tech over at Road Runner said they refresh their DNS cache every 48 hours.  That was over two days ago.  He was able to pull it up on his computer, so I figured at the latest, I'd be on two days later.   But, no go.

AKA, it HAS to be Road Runner related.  Just read my post above, and explain to me how I can be on now with AOL, but when I disconnect AOL and try to get on with Road Runner, I can't.

Cal, some technical info for you, I don't really know what's going on here.  I ran the Ping in DOS now that I'm on, and this is what I'm getting:

Quote
C:\>ping www.clinteastwood.org

Pinging www.clinteastwood.org [66.51.112.125] with 32 bytes of data:

I know I"m not supposed to come up with that #, so what gives?  ???

Yeah, Roadrunner in your area  I guess. At any rate, you're on with AOL now, so when they fix whatever issues they have,  you'll be back on with your normal connection. I don't see why on earth it would take Roadrunner 50 days to fix their problem, so I'm sure by the time your free trial runs out, you'll have the problem resolved on Roadrunner's end.
