AmericanBeauty wrote me yesterday afternoon to learn me the terrible and so sad news ...

Lin who was here on CEWB with me for so many years in the past and I want to say how moved we are : Kathie was and had always been a Mentor here on the board, a fantastic person and both of us respected her a lot, and appreciated her as well. So Lin and I offer our sincere condolences to everyone sharing the same feelings : her Friends, her Family, her Collegues, everybody I think here on Clint Eastwood Forums, the place to be today, for her.

I had the great privilege to meet her in April 2009, in New York City where my daughter Alison and I were on holidays. We had lunch together in the Bryant park near the merry go round, then as a great surprise for both of us, she announced that she would be our "private guide" to visit the New York Public Library just nearby ! We spent the afternoon with her, meeting her collegues, visiting her office, talking, laughing and she showed us so many nice and amazing parts of the Library. We exchanged presents, she gave me a small black and white pictures book about the Library building. A fantastic moment out of time in that fantastic place. She let us at the top of the famous stairs outside, asking us to call her if needed during our stay in NYC, any kind of questions, problems ... she waved at us until we climbed in the taxi.

She was a great woman, totally involved in her job at the Library she loved, that was obvious ! Everyone talked to her in a nice way, everyone was happy to meet her where we were there. Alison and I often talked about that afternoon with Kathie.

I feel happy to have met her once somewhere on Earth, this Board allowed me to meet her, I will never forget it.

Take care of you all

Rest In Peace dear Kathie.

Sylvie, from France.

General Discussion / Message to Mr Eastwood
« on: September 23, 2014, 07:02:51 AM »
Mr Eastwood,

This will be my last message here on that fabulous board that has been my everyday link with the great Actor and Man you are  :)
I shared my passion for your work with so many nice people met here : Lin. who became my best Friend on Earth, I met her twice,  once in Paris for one week (with our Husbands), once in her own country for one week too. I will cherish the day we met here in 2005 all my life long, thanks to you Mr Eastwood.

I want to thank several  other nice people here  :

- KC I had the pleasure to meet and have coffee with in NYC in 2011, near the Public Library, as I was with my own Alison daughter to visit "Big Apple".

- American Beauty I met several times in Paris too, with the same pleasure each time.

- Schofield Kid, my Australian friend who visited California just a few months before I'll do it  :)
Antonis, Philo, Palooka, Lilly ... And so many ones here I loved to talk with about your work.

But I feel it's time to stop : I don't share the same magical "spirit" here now, far from what I feel, I think and believe : most of all, I don't feel respect anymore, for work, people and acts. it's a pity, and too far from the aim you 've been following from the beginning of your career, this spirit we could feel in a lot of clever and nice Members posts here.

As a joke  for a few people here maybe, but that is true :

- I will be in Carmel on the 19th of October 2014. I will be with my Husband Cyrille to visit this so nice City, and from the 7th of October, in California to discover your so nice part of the World I've been dreaming about from my childhood.

Maybe will I see you, will I talk to you ? Who knows  :)? Just a smile, who knows ?

I was sat just behind you in on the 17th of Febbruary 2007,  in Lyon France, as you came with your Son Kyle to present the great "Letters From Iwo Jima" in the Lumière Institut, you walked just near me on the stairs, and your eyes met mines, a fantastic moment out of time, I will never forget.

Thank you for everything Mr Eastwood, for the movies, the light you put on my life. I will love you forever.

God bless you.

Thank you for this board dear Mods, Members : take care of you all.
Very best regards.

Sylvie.

Sylvie, that is a quite lovely picture, Clint hugging the cute little minkee. (Quoting inspector Clueless from Pink Panther  ;) ).

Is there a back-story? I reckon that it would be endearing if there is one that you could share with us.

Many thanks for sharing the great picture.
I found it here : http://www.movie-animals.co.uk/Credits.html
