Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Movies I have watched this week
« on: November 08, 2005, 10:54:37 AM »
I stayed up late the other night and enjoyed 'Finding Neverland' with my wife and then watched 'Tom Horn', 'Death Race 2000' and 'The Enforcer"  Short but sweet movies.

I will start to save money so I can get one of those houses when they become available.  Sounds like a good neighbor!  My wife is in the enviromental industry so she would love it too.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: 2005 Major League Baseball Season
« on: March 17, 2005, 12:33:34 PM »
We will see what the hearings produce then go from there.  Any real baseball fan knows this has been going on for years and I have been surprised that so many people are shocked by it.  They never tested for it so why not if you are a pro baseball player?  Do not get me wrong I do not condone it at all but if your a youngster in the minors your are probably blinded by all the millions you could earn.  Let's hope the game gets cleaned up and the Yankees do not even make the playoffs this year!

I remember the photo of him jumping the fence from Parade magazine that comes with the Sunday paper.  It was 10-12 years ago.  I would have to dig it up in my stash to confirm the date.

Eastwood News / Perfect X-mas present for someone
« on: December 15, 2004, 11:34:35 AM »
According to the imdb:  Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood's prized 1966 Berlinetta Ferrari will be auctioned this weekend. Movie producer Dino De Laurentiis, the man behind hits including Death Wish and Hannibal, gave Eastwood the luxury vehicle while he filmed The Witches in Rome in 1966. The customized Ferrari will be sold to the highest bidder at Bonham's auction house in Gstaad, Switzerland, on Saturday. It is expected to fetch between $446,500 and $475,000. A spokesman for Bonham's says, "Imagine the reaction of Rome's female population when Hollywood's coolest star rode into town in a Ferrari. It probably made their day."

A little to rich for me, maybe he will sell one of his old pick-ups soon.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Favorite Horror Films
« on: September 15, 2004, 11:36:17 AM »
I might have to hold a spot open for my favorite horror films. ;) Land of the Dead is supposed to start filming next month! It's cool that Romero is getting this film made now. Can't wait to see it. From the plot summaries, and from what I've heard Romero say, it sounds like he has a great idea.

Don't get me wrong I love the Dead movies and I am excited about Land of the Dead about I never thought they were very scary.  Dawn is almost a comedy sometimes.  One of my faves is John Carpenter's The Thing.

General Discussion / Re:All Clints movies on DVD
« on: September 15, 2004, 11:28:51 AM »
Wow you guys must be made of money.
did it take you a while, like one dvd a week, or in sections like the westerns, harry movies, etc?

No, I am not made of money. I read alot of DVD sites so when Clint's titles are announced I just save up.   I do not have his real early works.  I start with Fistfull of Dollars as far as his filmography goes.

Got them all except Bridges of Madison County.  Every copy I have seen in fullscreen.  Anybody have it or seen it in widescreen?

I feel the same way as alot of you.  When I first saw this my reaction was Clint was not the person for the role.  After more viewings I have a better appreciation for the picture though and like to spin it atleast once a year.  And yes it is hard to watch Clint get his butt kicked in the movie.  But he does prevail.

Eastwood News / More Harry Talk
« on: September 09, 2004, 11:40:58 AM »
Read this on Moviehole under an Alien and Predator story:

Talking of sturdy storylines, the idea for a new "Dirty Harry" that I heard today - over at Warner - is just brilliant. I won't say too much, but let's just say it flips back to the original film, and it's Clint Eastwood playing 'old' Harry, in a sort of 'Dark Knight Returns' vein. Hoping that baby happens.

Sounds pretty cool if it happens.  Deep down I would like to see another Dirty Harry movie for some closure and just to see Harry back in action.

When Shockley has the constable hostage and is on the phone with Blakelock he says something like "I've got a scorch to a$$"  Wouldn't the term be "A$$ to scorch?"  Just wondering.

Clint Eastwood Westerns / Re:The Watch?

I doubt such a thing ever existed.  Buy a similar looking watch and the soudtrack and that is about as close as you can probably get.

I have been looking foward to some of these shows coming out in the near future: Dukes of Hazzard, The A-Team, and like everybody else Seinfeld.  I also enjoy All in the Family which seasons one and two have been released but have not seen season three and it has been over a year since I bought seaon two.

The package is very original and will not fit into your Trilogy boxset.  Great extras on the inside!  For those of you who have not been shopping yet you can get both the new GBU special edition and the new special edition of 'The Great Escape' at Best Buy for 19.99 each and automatically get $10 off your purchase so they are 14.99 each.

It is about time!  I also noticed Universal announced 'The Adventures of Francis the Mule: Volume 1' but sadly it does not include Clint's fantastic role in 'Francis in the Navy'.  Shucks!  Just have to wait for that one now.
