Off-Topic Discussion / The Gian Maria Volonte Appreciation Thread

The Gian Maria Volonte Appreciation Thread

The Italian actor Gian Maria Volonte was worthy of his roles in both Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More; you should also watch him in A Bullet for The General.  His other Spaghetti western was Face to Face.

However his range was deeper than just the four Spaghetti westerns he acted in…

Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion, won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film in 1971, and in 1983, Gian won the best actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for The Death of Mario Ricci.

It can be difficult to find his movies in traditional places however it is easy to find downloads if you know where to look.

It was sad to hear that he died from a heart attack on December 6th 1994 at only 61 years old.  A good actor in my view.

What movies have you seen and what do you recommend?

At Dick Smith Electronics AMTC brand -    Model Number: BD2102 AU$95

The rare feature of this player is that it is multiregional for both DVD’s and Bluray straight out of the box!!  You simply change the Bluray region via remote code!!

If your older SD TV will accept connection of a DVD Player, it will also most likely allow connection of a Bluray player.  If you are willing to support Bluray buy a Bluray player now as you will at least be able to start building your Bluray collection, just remember it will only display at normal low resolution (480p).  Also if your DVD Player dies replace it with a BR Player.

I am not giving a personal recommendation on this player, this is to help people on a budget; I do know a few people that have purchased 4 or 5 of these players.

Also sold in other countries under various different brands

Collectors' Corner / Geoffrey Lewis autograph
« on: January 14, 2010, 02:50:38 AM »
Are you a fan of Geoffrey Lewis? Would you like his autograph? Via an upcoming collector show I can order an in-person autograph from Geoffrey Lewis.  It will be hand signed by Geoffrey.  This is an expression of interest only.  I will be ordering one autograph for myself and just thought I would offer this information for others if they are interested… This is not a scam...

The venue itself does not issue a Certificate of Authenticity, this should not deter you as COA's are of no importance and don't guarantee authenticity!!

Questions & Answers / Australian newspaper article
« on: January 04, 2010, 08:03:16 PM »
Does anybody remember the article in an Australian newspaper when Clint Eastwood was meant to be on a plane that later crashed – I don’t remember the reason Clint had to rearrange his travel plans.  I think the article was between 1986-1990  – my memory of what I read is now unfortunately too vague to be any clearer.

Or is my own memory misleading me?

(edit to change time period.  )

Well as you may or may not know there will be a remake of Rawhide and Palooka (CEWB) has a small part in it, his character name is Jimmy Snooker.  This is Palooka practicing for the part.  We look forward to his success and seeing him in it!!!

Then the Zorro remake called the Legend of Zorr
He is burning at both ends in this one!! He Makes His Own Lawes too

Wish you all the success Pal.  There are even rumors around that he will be the next Bond (yes look its true)

Director Clint Eastwood talks about the movie Enough is Enough starring Palooka… (Sorry broken link)

;D ;D (This is fictional, I didn't create the top photo but found it on a photoshop forum so sorry to the original artist.  I put pals face in the pic. I did create the other two)
