Eastwood News / KELLY'S HEROES featured in upcoming CR
« on: September 15, 2009, 12:07:21 PM »
Just a heads up...
The September 2010 (that's one year from now) CINEMA RETRO has a cover story on
KELLY'S HEROES

not one his best films imho but still good news!

11
When a movie ends nowadays I head for the exit. The end titles, with an occasional  exception (WALL-E) consist of an endless credit crawl on a black backgrpound with a lame song that has nothing to do with the film (GOTHIKA).
ALCATRAZ has one of the most creative , memorable end sequences ever. It starts on the San Francisco Bay as boats scurry about looking for the escaped convicts. Then it fades onto that great mask of Frank Norris with the mocking grin.
The soundtrack features sounds of the ocean and bay plus Jerry Fieldings mysterious music.

So, if they did have a song playing over the credits, what would be appropriate?

I like "The Porpoise Song" by The Monkees

ANY more suggestions?

General Discussion / Clint flicks I missed. No apologies
« on: May 13, 2009, 02:46:30 PM »
There is only one actor i can honestly say "i never miss one  of his films".
But, there are a handful I just could not bring myself to watch:

CITY HEAT - I was really looking forward to to this but everybody said it was a totAL disaster, even Clint fans.
ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN- I saw the first one. One orangutan movie was enough.
THE ROOKIE - Clint reduced to starring in a buddy-cop flick!? Too embarrassing to contemplate.
THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY - Hey! My name is Bruce, not Brenda!
TRUE CRIME - Innocent man on death row with time running out - too hackneyed (same with Clint's character)

Considerin'all the films he has made that is a pretty good percentage.
Feel free to tell me i missed out on a good film from my list.
