General Discussion / City Heat
« on: December 15, 2003, 02:10:33 PM »
Hi everyone!
I finally got around to buying a DVD player, got me one of those that have both VHS and DVD on it. SO I decided to celebrate that by buying 3 clint DVD"s; White Hunter Black Heart, Where Eagles Dare and City Heat.
Now I havent got around to watching the other two on DVD yet, but I just watched City Heat and umm.. :-\ Well I had a felling it was gonna be bad but this kinda went beyond my expectations.
I mean, the film has it's moments of course, and I enjoyed the humour between Eastwood and Reynolds, but aside from that, it was rather disapointing...
Poor storyline, not so great casting, forgetable characters. But you know, I guess Ill watch it again to give it another chance, since I feel Eastwood films require at least 2 viewings to grow on me properly ;D
So anyways, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on City Heat were. Any fans of it?

Discussion Board Troubleshooting / Weird problem with text size
« on: November 09, 2003, 01:31:49 PM »
Me again ;)
I'm not sure this really belongs here, but recently, whenever I come on the board, for some reason my text size keeps switching itself to "smallest" ???. and I use the "smaller" one, so I keep changing it back, but it returns to "smallest" whenever I refresh the page.
I dont think it's done that on other pages, so I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced similiar problems, or is it just my computer again? :P ;D

So thats it basically...It's not really a MAJOR issue, it's actually more amusing than annoying, but I just wanted to see if I was alone in the bizzarro-text-world :D

Discussion Board Troubleshooting / Question about number of posts
« on: September 28, 2003, 03:17:42 AM »
I had been wondering about this for quite some time, so here goes:
How come my number of posts go down sometimes? Do you guys delete threads and stuff like that and it takes off posts? I dont really mind, either way, I was just wondering, because I posted something this morning, and I was thinking "oh, I must be kinda close to 400 posts now" and then the counter went down to 385 again...
so I guess thats about it, I was just wondering about that :)

The Dirty Harry Films / I bought a Dirty Harry T-Shirt!!!
« on: July 05, 2003, 04:07:26 PM »
Ok, you got the idea from the title, I bought a Dirty Harry T-shirt!Im so glad. Ok heres my little story;Ive been wanting a clint eastwood t-shirt for a long time, and looked everywhere for one, and since I couldnt find one, Id lost hope a long time ago. So yesterday, we went to this big mall, thats 3 hours drive from where I live (yeah, I live in a real tiny place) and I was in this store, in which they do those old iron ons patches, and Id been there before, so I checked the choices they had and  :o :o :o there was one of dirty harry! its this shot from magnum force ,clint and the black silhouette (theres no way that thats the correct way to spell this word but....) but minus the writing, and its surrounded by this very 70s looking yellow and orange circle (its a little hard to describe, but you get the idea-I bought a t-shirt ;D)
So anyways, maybe I should have posted this in the off-topic discussion, I just wanted to say Im real happy about this, its nice to finally find a clint shirt, especially when you dont expect it. (I ALMOST chose a sex pistols shirt, and then, thank heaven, I looked through the rest of the choices)
;D ok, end of story, thank you for your time ;D

The Dirty Harry Films / My Dirty Harry Background
« on: June 15, 2003, 06:38:38 AM »
Hi again!
I did a Dirty Harry Background a few months back, and I finally figured how to post it online (I know what youre thinking punk;youre thinking, is she slow or what? ;D)
I hope it works. Anyways, its not marvelous or anything, just tell em what you think, it took me a while to finish it, thats probably the only reason why I wanna show off my work ;D

oh- just tell me if it doesnt work, and Ill delete the thread

thanks- Here it goes-

I hope it doesnt disapear when I close the program :-\

Ok....Now I make a poll, and Im not even sure for who to vote myself ;D. I think Ill go with Tyne Daly, because I thought her interaction with Harry made "the enforcer" a lot more interesting.
I like the other 2 also.

Well well, looks like its up to you guys, tell me who you like best.

Questions & Answers / Whats this?
« on: May 20, 2003, 12:00:54 PM »
Ok, go to the last story on this link, intitled "the good the bad and the ugly"

I know that's old news, but what is that documentary they're talking about. Is it Eastwood on Eastwood or another one simply titled Eastwood?
I'd just like to know because it sounds interesting.

Questions & Answers / Sexiest man alive?
« on: May 19, 2003, 12:55:06 PM »
My mom mentionned to me that she tought clint had once won as "sexiest man alive" :-* back in 1970-something, in some magazine. Maybe "People" or something like that. I was just wondering if any of you maybe seen a magazine article citing Clint as "Sexiest man alive" or "most handsome" or something in that style. I know he must have been in those lists thousand of times, But what I wanna know is; was he ever #1?
He must have won at some point. And if not, we'll have to start our own magazine and put him right at #1! ;)

General Discussion / Clint on bravo this summer
« on: May 18, 2003, 01:04:00 PM »
I just saw a commercial on BRAVO saying that they would do an eastwood festival this summer. Anyone knows about this?

These are my favorites when it comes to the humour level. ;D You may not agree with me at all, therefore, the "others" section, in case you disagree completely with my choices. ;)
Anyway,it's up to you now    Take your vote!

 Thoughts, comments?

I was thinking about the fact that clint was considering "hanging it up as an actor" :'(. Don't you guys think it would be nice if he just acted one more time... I mean, if his last piece of acting is bloodwork...I don't know but I'd like to see him go off with a big sucess like unforgiven.
I'd like to remember him as the man with no name or something like that, instead of the man who got a transplanted heart. ;D
No but seriously, I liked bloodwork, but it's far from beeing top-range eastwood
 Anyone agrees? toughts comments? ???

General Discussion / Would anyone be interested??
« on: April 24, 2003, 06:45:45 PM »
Hi, me again ::) ;D I was just wondering if anyone here who has mirc would be interested in creating an eastwood chat channel.I have mirc, but I never use it, because all people wanna to do is talk about sex or argue lol. ;D
No but seriously, I tought i'd be nice, like if we go on mirc and a few other members were there, we could all have a nice chat together.

Just tell me if this is stupid :-[/or if anyone wants to do this.. ;D.Just an idea I had when I saw the practicaly-unused-mirc-icon on my desktop ;)

General Discussion / Hey hey!Look who just found a flaw in TB&LF
« on: April 17, 2003, 08:15:01 AM »

Anyways, just wanted to post this even if it ain't very useful or entertaining cuz its the first time I actually notice something like that in a movie lol

and oh-correct me if Im totally wrong and there is no flaw :-[

General Discussion / Does he look too damn good?
« on: April 16, 2003, 07:08:48 AM »
I just finished watching the beguiled- a result of reading post in the film discussion and wanting to watch the movie again, ;D and I always tought that clint looked younger than his age and it strucked me again in that movie. I mean, I always tought he looked 30 when he was 40 and 40 when he was 50, you know, like he's ten years late on his age. Anyone else thinks this way? I mean in play misty, I wouldn't say he looks like a 41 year old, would you?Anyway he just has (had) that ageless feel to him like he looked mature and all but with a young man's face. Ive heard people say he looked 50 when he was 40- so maybe my opinion is not shared by everyone.....So your choice- it's almost like a poll

1-He looks younger than his age ;D
2-He looks his age ::)
3-Looks older :'(
Opinions, toughts???
