The Dirty Harry Films / 3 Versions of the Sudden Impact Theme?
« on: September 23, 2006, 02:56:31 PM »
I recently noticed the differance between the Sudden Impact theme from the Dirty Harry Anthology and the theme from the movie.  Honestly, I prefer the movie version better.  I ripped it from the movie on my computer.  It is 2:24 and the CD version is 2:52.  Of coarse, in the movie, it fades as we get closer to the car.  The other version is on a CD which I forgot the name of.  That one is 3:48.  Why is that one so much longer?

PS: If anyone whats the movie version to hear the differance, e-mail me at lomaxfellow76@aol.com.

I heard somewhere that The Enforcer was James Fargo's first movie.  He did a pretty good job!

Thanks, ;)

But, what is the game storyline?

Just Dirty Harry or all the films?

Really?  I don't remember him.  It's been a long time since I last saw that movie.

If you notice, DP has a very unusual cast, and none of the "Eastwood regulars" you see in his other films. I may be mistaken, but I didn't notice any. I mean, Liam Neeson...Guns & Roses...Jim Carrey!

There was Micheal Currie (Captain Donnelly) and I've seen him in Any Which Way You Can and Sudden Impact.

Not trying to dredge up anything.  I'm new to the board and this question has been burning in my head for a month now.

I think Clint is too old to play Dirty Harry the way Harry needs to be played.  However, Harry Callahan is such a powerful, well-written character that its a shame the franchise stops.  Could it be possible to do the franchise like James Bond has been done?  To some, Connery will always be James Bond no matter who plays the role.  To others, its Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan.  All did the character justice and kept the franchise alive.

I think you have a point.  Callahan may be Clint's character and is very well written, the movies shouldn't stop.  On the other hand...I don't know any other actors out there that are as good as Clint and can play Callahan as well as Clint and it wouldn't be good to have a sequel to come out way after 1988...an 18 year gap between sequels? Come On!!!

The Dirty Harry Films / Magnum Force Question
« on: July 31, 2006, 01:46:33 PM »
How exacly could Harry explain himself at the end of Magnum Force

"You've just killed three police officers, Harry."

Only he knew what the vigilante cops where doing.

Does anyone know why he didn't stick with Clint through out the series?  He just disappeared.

The Dirty Harry Films / Question about "The Enforcer"
« on: July 26, 2006, 07:52:48 AM »
I felt the need to watch The Enforcer yesterday and it was the scene at Tiffany's.  Callahan uses an alias ''Larry Dickman'', which, by the way, I think is hilarious.  He talks about ''his brother'' (a tall person, bald and a gold tooth in front).  Does anyone know who he is talking about and how did he know of him?

Oh, yeah!
I'm sure everyone knows the original title of The Enforcer was ''Dirty Harry III'' and it's french title is ''The Inspector Never Gives Up''.  Magnum Force is known as ''Calahan'' in Germany and I read somewhere The Dead Pool is known as "(Dirty Harry Is) The Final Target".  I can't remember where I read that, though. :-\

Why aren't any of the other films called "Dirty Harry something," either?  ??? It's unusual to have a series of five films without using roman numerals, or some device like "The return of ... " etc.

I think Chico is the only one who actually mentions the nickname even in Dirty Harry. (And DiGiorgio offers his "explanation," of course.)

The french title of Sudden Impact is called ''The Return Of Inspector Harry''.

The Dirty Harry Films / Callahan

Why is it that Callahan is called ''Dirty Harry'' only in Dirty Harry?  There were no refrences of his nickname in any other film.
