The Dirty Harry Films / Re: A "New" Dirty Harry movie...
« on: July 10, 2008, 08:40:40 PM »
I was able to catch Code of Silence on TV and I didn't like it.  I tried to picture Clint in Chuck's role.
His role was too rugged for Clint.

The Dirty Harry Films / A "New" Dirty Harry movie...

Did you know that there was a discarded Dirty Harry movie written by The Enforcer writer Gail Morgan Hickman?
After The Enforcer was released, Hickman wrote another screenplay called "Chain Reaction."  It was optional for Clint, but
he intended it to be left a trilogy and he rejected it.

I wonder what it was about.

I'm going to the city on Thursday with some friends.
Wonder if they'll be interested...

The Gauntlet...I was going on vacation to Las Vegas and wanted to "feel" the film. :)

Spike Lee has fired the latest salvo in this war.

"I feel like I've been denied, I've been insulted, I've been mistreated. But what can you do? We still have a strong underlying force in my country of rabid racism."

And he's the only one acting like a child about all of this...
I don't know if Lee either had the balls to mess with Clint or he was that stupid he had to mess with Clint.
Lee's a student of history, Clint lived through a number of historic events in the country.

And Clint's not trying to have a "Dirty Harry flashback"...he is Dirty Harry.
He's afraid of Clint, that's why he's backing off.

I think Lee is just jealous because his movies suck.
BTW: GBU, that is the best avatar I've ever seen.

- Eastwood Tells Lee To 'Shut His Face'

We still have a classic Clint ;)

I have a strong feeling we're gonna learn a lot more about Dirty Harry from these new DVDs.
I just had minor surgery done over the weekend and buying these will "make my day..." and cheer me up.

I wondered why only Schickel recorded a commentary and not Eastwood.  I thought "What the hell does he have to do with these?"
Then, I read in the Sudden Impact score inlay that Schickel and Eastwood are good friends.

Clint's a very busy man and, without a doubt, he must get a lot of fan mail a day.
I don't think has the time to reply to them.

They look fantastic.  Especially Sudden Impact.
I pre-ordered mine already.  Can't wait!

Just holding out for The Dead Pool score.
Any ideas when it will be released??

God! I hope real soon.
Word on the street is it's just "around the corner."

Maybe during the summer?
Can mary mary confirm the real date?

Has anyone wrote to him?
Does he reply...?

I'm going completely insane trying to find The Gauntlet sunglasses and, as he says in The Dead Pool, I'm sh*t outta luck.
Thought maybe he'd remember...

Call me insane, but I seem to be the only person on this website that both likes and owns the Death Wish sequels :o. Correct me if I'm wrong, though!

paul, if your insane...I am as well.  I also like and own the Death Wish movies.

If there's one thing I've noticed about Clint...
He's very particular when it comes to his movies.

I remember watching the documentary on FireFox and he's asked about directing the movie.
He tells us that he'd rather have someone else deal with the headache and it has to be someone who's work
he respects.

General Discussion / Eastwood in "Death Wish"
« on: April 13, 2008, 01:42:45 PM »
Clint was offered the role of Paul Kersey in Death Wish after the success of Dirty Harry.
He thought he would be poorly cast.  Charles Bronson did great.  However, do you think the movie would
have turned out better with Clint?

If I half cross my eyes, I can see it.
It just looks like a small body with a gigantic fist next to it.

I'm not trying to be difficult or negative against the cover art.
It just looks unreal to me.

The huge gun is the point ... isn't it? ???

No, no.  I mean the size of the gun compared to him is ridiculous.

;D Thanks for clarifying that, Brian.  That one kept me awake for weeks. :D
I don't mind San Francisco After Dark.  I think it goes with the mood of the movie.
Especially the final scene.  I always thought that it was the original end credits music.
It just wasn't used in the movie.

mary mary...
something tells me you have already listened to it...
am I correct?

If so, I have a few questions...
1. Is the alternate main title noticeably different then the one we know? &
2. Is there any un-used tracks like the Magnum Force OST had?

Everything about them is GREAT.
I just wish they re-used their original poster artwork.
Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool are just poorly photo shopped.

HUGE gun.  Tiny body.

The first three are presentable.
