Eastwood News / Re: Eastwood and Aronofsky, Live at Tribeca

Tickets went on sale today to American Express cardholders, and I scored two! So, I'm going! :)

Well done KC, that's excellent!

So as suspected by both KC and AKA23 (and not by gullible old me :D) the Stompin' Tom story has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter as an April Fools joke.

Several Canadian newspapers were reporting it funnily enough..a case of wanting something to be true perhaps?

They are great fun and nothing beats watching a Clint film with friends who you know love it just as much as you!

It would be great to have you there Rawhide7...I think you should change your hours,  take a holiday or, if it comes to it, quit your job so you can make it.  :crazy2:

I only have the one picture hanging up of Clint so far which I recently got from eBay for £4.20.

I've ordered a print of the High Plains Drifter poster and the US insert of Every Which Way But Loose which I'll get framed (in honor of our upcoming movie night)  ;)

It's by someone called Rob Larson and is a limited print apparently (a limited run of just 4 million probably! )

Eastwood News / Re: Jersey Boys: Production Information and News

I enjoyed "Walk the Line" too, but I wouldn't consider "Walk the Line" a musical.

No it's a biopic about someone who rose to fame in the music industry and had struggles along the way. As far as I can tell that is similar in premise to The Jersey Boys except it is a group rather than one individual. I've not seen the play so can't say for sure but I hope it would be something along those lines.

I don't know if this counts as a musical as such but I enjoyed Walk the Line and if Clint can do something similar with The Jersey Boys then I'm sure it will be interesting to watch.

I just got my new copy of KC's book today from Amazon.  It has a good selection of interviews in that makes it worth getting even if you have the original one. A fine addition to the book collection.  Nicely done KC.

General Discussion / Re: Clint on The Danny Kaye Show 1965

It's a shame shows like this may never be seen again.  I guess it all depends on what the studio did with the film.  In the UK a lot of shows we're lost completely due to the BBC wiping and reusing their tapes to save money!  They obviously hadn't heard of historical importance,  cultural reference and nostalgia back then.

Yeah!  What tickled me was the laughter behind the camera and Clint then having to keep a straight face.  A nice moment.

Here's a good video of Clint receiving the People's Choice award for "Favorite Motion Picture Actor" 1987.

Clint was of course Mayor of Carmel at the time so couldn't attend the award show so he is in Carmel receiving it...what he says 20 seconds in made me laugh a lot!

General Discussion / Clint on The Danny Kaye Show 1965
« on: April 05, 2013, 06:18:54 AM »
I've found a photo of Clint in Rawhide garb appearing with Buddy Ebsen, Fess Parker and Danny Kaye on The Danny Kaye show dated 6th October 1965.

I realise it's a long shot but has anyone ever seen this show? It ran for sixty minutes and they had various sketches which Clint took part in.
