For the longest time, I hoped Clint & Charles Bronson would make a movie together.  That would've been interesting to say the least.  It definitely would've been cool to see The Duke make a western with Clint.  What other past actors would you have liked to see Clint make a movie with? (male and/or female) *Thanks to Adam S. for giving me this idea-I hope it's not an old topic.

I'd love to have seen Clint work with Burt Lanchaster..... Morris and the Birdman of Alcatraz.. ;D

Also Robert Ryan and Clint couldve been good

.. and Bronson would've made a good match for Philo Beddoe...

James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart, although that's a stretch because Cagney retired in 1961 after "One, Two, Three" and Bogart passed away in 1957.

Jed,

actually, Clint DID work with Charles Bronson! it was in the final season of Rawhide and Bronson played a mean ranch hand bent on killing one of Rowdy's young trailhands (Rowdy was the trailboss in the final season).

i will always remember Bronson saying this great line to the young cowhand after taunting him and wanting him to pick up his gun for a gunfight:

"Pick it up."

just imagine Bronson saying that in his typical scowling face and threatening manner. he was certainly one of the coolest tough guys around.

and an interesting aside to Bronson was that he actually owned a mobile home park near where i live in Southern California. i think he did quite well in real estate ventures.

Good one Pete!  I actually knew that, but forgot.  :-[ I guess what I should've said was I would've liked to see them make a movie together after they were established film stars.  If Rawhide EVER comes out on dvd (season box-set format), that's one of the first episodes I'll look for.

Elvis.   ???  :o There, I said it.   :PThe man had the makings to become, at best, a good actor.  As fate would have it, the fans flocked to the hokey musical comedies and the rest is history.  Had Elvis teamed up with Eastwood for a western, who knows?  John Wayne and Ricky Nelson worked very well together in Rio Bravo (one of my all-time favorites).

I presume this thread is for actors now deceased or currently retired. I would've liked Clint to work with Sterling Hayden, Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Steve McQueen, Katherine Hepburn...there's so many more I can't think of right now. No one else has mentioned any actresses -why not?!

Ok, how about Marilyn Monroe?  Hmm, don't know about that one.  Here's a good one, Barbara Stanwyck.  She did very well with The Big Valley.  She, Elvis & Clint could've remade Roustabout as Roustabout Rowdy, right Agent?  :-\
I'd rather see Escape From Acapulco!  :D

Right, Jed!  ;D  I think Sharon Tate would have been great with Clint, especially in a mystery such as Play Misty For Me. Not that Donna Mills didn't do an excellent job, but I think someone like Tate would have been a great pick, as well as in some of his other films. Too bad they never hit it off.... ;)
