I will say if it looks like a fun film to watch I will see it. As long as like what Gant said, no Tom Cruise as Philo.

Don't think we have to worry about Tom Cruise -- I just can't imagine he'd want to do this movie.

Probably Matt McConaughey?

That would be a great choice Matt!

At this point Ronda Rousey would make the most sense.

Actually, yeah, I could see McConaughey as Philo.

But who will play Clyde? ???

(If he's not CGI, as suggested on the previous page.)

Actually, one re-cast they should be able to improve on would be Lynn Halsey Taylor.

You know, I could see them doing it the same way they've done the new Planet of the Apes movies.
And going along with that, I'd guess Andy Serkis could even play Clyde.

It's a movie so much of its time that I just can't see it working...
I guess they'd make it a lot tougher and nastier, with ridiculously over the top fight scenes.. losing al it's carefree feel...
And The Palomino is no longer there...

Any remake of any Clint Eastwood movie is sacrilege. There is nobody on this planet who can play Clint Eastwood in a movie, they can try, but they will fail. Just like Tommy Lee Jones in "In the Electric Mist" or "No Country for Old Men", WHO can play those characters? Nobody. Hollywood is FUBAR.
