There is no audience anymore for adults with a few exceptions. I love the man, but lets face it his movies have not done well at the box office for over a decade. If I was Eastwood I'd go to France or Japan and make movies. American audiences are pretty lame today as far what sells at the movies and the music industry... The sophistication in this Country is gone forever......

Warner Bros. May Have Ended Their 50-Year Partnership With Clint Eastwood

A sad state of affairs.  My apologies, I thought the content of this link was different because I noticed the date of August 4, but it?s not.  Still, it?s disheartening.  I hope Eastwood?s new project is a major success and he has the last laugh.

If Clint really wants to make an other picture, he should find an other studio.
He has nothing to lose in doing so. Some 15 years ago, he made Changeling for Universal Studios.
After all, Clint is not exclusively attached to Warner Bros, in spite of his unprecedented partnership with that studio.
Indeed, Warner Bros remains an important part in film career of Clint.
When some people like Ted Ashley, John Calley, Terry Semel, Bob Daly or Alan Horn worked at Warner Bros, it seemed to be more places for adult films, for many different films from ambitious filmmakers.
But today, Warner Bros seems more interested in making DC films, Harry Potter films and even a Barbie film.
It is what it is.

I contacted the author of the article and he thinks this means that Eastwood likely won't have to retire, as another studio will likely be interested in him making movies for them, even if it may not be this particular one.

I belong to another forum that Holden Pike is a member of, who is one of our most knowledgeable veteran members here about film. He rarely posts anymore, and he said this:

One of the streamers, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, or Apple+, would absolutely love to be in the Clint Eastwood business. Whatever and however much business may be left. He works on relatively modest budgets, has never gone over them, can easily draw in other known actors to work with him, and with the streamers not reliant on box office as a metric, uh, yeah, I am sure if he has a project to shop he will have multiple non-Warner Brothers buyers.

Hearing from a Malpaso source that as of yesterday, "another project has been finalized today for another film that the boss will direct."
Tantalising and no details, but hopefully a positive sign....

That would be fantastic. I wonder if Warner Bros will be involved.

I understand you, Perry
Clint made so many biopics or films inspired by real-life events, during the last 15 years at least.
On the other hand, at this point, I would just be happy to see Clint working again and making an other picture.

I don't think it's really about Eastwood doing another movie ever again anymore even if it's another Bio type film. I think a great deal of it is the political atmosphere that's going on in Hollywood and unfortunately like I've said before Eastwood's movies have not done well at the box office the past decade and don't appeal to today's movie audience. That's a double negative. That's just the reality of things.

Hi Antonis..
I was told, "I can't give out any information at the moment, I'm not allowed to, but stay tuned."
That was on the 25th August.
Hopefully plans are being laid and details will be made public.
