We're looking for a one-stepper with the great Gérard Philipe ...

Would anyone like another hint here?

Okay, it's my first post in this thread... let's see if I do this right.

The connection is La Fièvre monte à El Pao which co-starred José Chávez who was also Horatio in Two Mules for Sister Sara.

That's great, Matt! That wasn't the one I found, but it works just as well.

For fun ... can anyone find an Italian actor who was in a single Eastwood film (yes, a Western) ... and in a film with Philipe?

Matt, you get to post a new one, in any case.  :D

Cool, I did it right.  ;D

If anyone can come up with KC's answer, post away.  Until then, here's the next:

Tilda Swinton  :-*

You a Tilda fan, Matt?  ;) I found a couple one steppers for her, but I'll let someone else have a go ... Gant?  :D

Yup, I like her.  :)

I also had a feeling she wouldn't have been used before in this thread, and I didn't want to read through the previous 20 or so pages to make sure I didn't repeat someone.

You found a few one-steppers already?  :o  Man, you're good.

Tilda Swinton was in Adaptation with Meryl "Francesca" Streep, of Bridges of Madison County fame.

I'll have to leave further one-steppers with the great Gérard Phillipe to those greater than myself. I have to echo Gant's remarks, as I've been through a fair share of his catalog already to no avail. Kudos to you both, KC and Matt, for coming up with and solving that one, respectively...

That works! I had found a link to Tilda with Toby Stephens of Space Cowboys, who was in Orlando with her.  I've been meaning to see Adaptation for a while now. Maybe now that baseball season is over, I'll be visiting Blockbuster more often.

Bill Paxton was in Titanic with Bernard Hill, who was the Warden in True Crime.

If that's good, I'll need a few minutes to find another actor. They're harder than answering.

"Third wave... DIVE!" ;) Brian Blessed was in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner (A Perfect World). However, it appears Penelope Cruz was in Masked and Anonymous with Jeff "Lightfoot" Bridges (Thunderbolt and Lightfoot).

How about that smoldering, dark-haired Swede with the exhilarating smile:

Lena Olin  :P

Liv Ullman was in Lost Horizon (1973) with George Kennedy and he was in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and The Eiger Sanction.

Next one: L'enfant sauvage's Françoise Seigner

I'm glad that Gerard Philipe one has gone. I was spending way too much time on that one.

OK.. Francoise was in the '82 version of Les Miserables with Jean Piere Bernard who was in The Eiger Sanction..

Ok.. :)

Jean-Paul Belmondo was in Il Giorno più corto with Toto who was also in Le Streghe (The Witches).  Another one stepper is Les Cent et une nuits de Simon Cinéma with Francisco Rabal who was in Le Streghe as well.

Les Cent et une nuits de Simon Cinéma also includes a cameo of Clint himself! Don't know if that would count as a zero stepper or not.  ???

Okay, I hope (again) I'm not repeating an actor that's already come up here.

How about.... David Bowie

David Bowie played Pontius Pilate in The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), Verna Bloom also had a role in that movie and she was in High Plains Drifter and Honkytonk Man
