Xichado, are you looking for a one-stepper? I can find two-steppers, but I haven't found a one-stepper yet ...  :-[

Hey KC,

There is a one-stepper, which can be found in Clin't early days as a movie actor.  ;)

I gots it!

The link is Kuniko Miyake ... who was in both Wim Wenders's Bis ans Ende der Welt (1991), in which Amália had a bit as a "Woman in Street Car," and Escapade in Japan (1957), the next to last of ten films Eastwood had insignificant roles in before he landed a fairly major part in Ambush in Cimarron Pass ...

Good one, Xichado (even if we "usually" exclude those early films when playing this game)! You connected Portugal, Japan and Clint in one easy step ...

I'm afraid my knowledge of fado is woefully small ... I take it Amália Rodrigues is a legend in that art form?

For a new one ... how about the German star of the 50s and 60s (and one-time wife of singer Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau) ... Ruth Leuwerik?

There is at least one one-stepper, and it's not via Clint's "early days"! ;)

You're GREAT!

The one-stepper I had in mind was a different one though  ;). Amália Rodrigues was in Les Amants du Tage (1955) with Marcel Dalio and he had a role in Lafayette Escadrille (1958) with Clint.

 :o ooops! Sorry, I didn't know. I'll keep it in mind  :).

Amália was/is a legend. She is the soul, the heart and the voice of Fado and of the portuguese soul. Her (small) movie career was also very good.

Gee, so I guess I'M the one who connected Portugal, Japan and Clint in a single step!  :o

Have you seen Les Amants du Tage? I noticed someone on the IMDb plaintively remarking that he had seen it some forty years ago and had been searching for it ever since ... "hoping to find out if it is as good as I remember."

That one's pretty easy, Brendan ... Madsen is in Kill Bill with Lucy Liu, who was in True Crime.

How about Gregory Peck?

No fewer than three once or future Clint co-stars joined Gregory Peck in Mackenna's Gold (1969) ... a project Eastwood himself had been sought for, but that he turned down in favor of Hang 'em High. They are: Telly Savalas (Kelly's Heroes), Lee J. Cobb (Coogan's Bluff) ... and old Tuco himself, Eli Wallach.

New one: Toshirô Mifune, who starred in Yojimbo, the film that indirectly launched Eastwood's career. There are at least two one-steppers.

Sorry to say, I'm not, Gant ...  :o

Stephen Ray was in Michael Collins (1996), which starred Liam Neeson (The Dead Pool). He was also in The Crying Game (1992), which undeservedly won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar over Unforgiven, with Forest Whitaker, who starred in Bird, but I guess we aren't including Eastwood's "director-only" efforts in this game.

Gant, why don't you go again? I'm still feeling down from last night's World Series loss. Going out to drown my sorrows in a cup of coffee.
