Actually Allycat.. this was a very good one.

Well.. I've got an answer.. but I wanted to search a bit more just to make sure that I had all of my bases covered.

But so far.. this is all that I could come up with.
Julie Newmar (not playing herself) and Bruce Dern were in a  movie called "If... Dog... Rabbit", Dern was in a documentary movie called "A Decade Under the Influence."  In this documentary movie, Clint and Bruce played themselves.  (That was why I asked if Clint played himself. :))

I just realized how few movies Julie Newmar did where she didnt' play herself.

Ok.. Allycat... break it to me gently if I'm wrong. :D :D :D

That wasn't the link...but yours will do just fine, Gino! I think you put even more effort into that one that I did with mine! Mine was via the 1985 film Reel Horror. Julie starred with Catherine Bach in that one, and Bach starred as Melody, the girl Lightfoot hooks up with, in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. Actually, when I was referring to not using Julie's guest appearances, I just meant the ones listed as 'Herself - filmography' on the IMDB - in fact, there was only one actual film under that. But I guess I made it pretty confusing!

So...you're up. I think someone else will have to get your next one though, as I'm off to bed ;)

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Actually, Clint and Bruce appeared together, NOT playing themselves, in a little number called Hang 'Em High ... so you can make the link from Julie to Clint via Bruce in one step and you don't have to use any movies where anybody played himself! Er herself! Er, you know what I mean! ;)

Wow KC, you never cease to amaze me!  :D

As Gino made a link first, I guess he should go next. But KC, you get the gold star I was saving in my drawer for 'Outstanding Performance in the Field of Excellence.' ;)

C'mon, Gino, you're up!

Ok...here's the first link - I think we should be allowed any Clint film, so on that basis, there's this link:

Vincent was in Hot Rod Gang (1958) with Lester Dorr, who starred with Clint in First Traveling Saleslady.

But if you don't want to go with that, then there's this link: Dub Taylor also starred in Hot Rod Gang with Vincent, and appeared in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (yay! Another connection) as the Station Attendant.

Howzat? Double the fun! ;)

OK... I 've found two links.

The easy link is O. J. Simpson and George Kennedy was in the first Naked Gun movie.  Kennedy was in The Eiger Santion with Clint.

Next one could be O. J. Simpson and Todd Brant was in Back to the Beach.  Bryant was in Blood Work with Clint.

Allycat.. did I get any of then right???? ROFL ROFL ROFL, It would be my luck for neither of these links are the ones that you're thinking of.  ;D ;D ;D

No Gino, you did well but didn't get my link! ;)

Mine was via Capricorn One (1978) - OJ starred in that with David Doyle, who was Pushie the tavern owner in Coogan's Bluff.

So - your turn! I am sadly going to bed in the next half hour so I'll have to play again later...

ally  :)

Got it already! Bette was in Death on the Nile (1978) with George Kennedy who was Ben Bowman in the Eiger Sanction, and he was also Red Leary in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

Have a go with Sterling Hayden, a great actor...and I'll bet good money that you won't get my link ;)

I'll just say it's via one of my favourite films with him in. An early one ;) Say, 1950s ;)

I might be very close to the exact link you have in mind, but you gave a very good hint.

Sterling Hayden was in Kubrick's The Killing with James Edwards from Coogan's Bluff.

Would that be the baroque Nick Ray cult Western, Johnny Guitar (1954), in which Sterling played the title role (Johnny, not the guitar) opposite Joan Crawford as the tough, pistol-packing, pants-wearing saloon owner with the shady past, Vienna? If so, your link could be Royal Dano, "Ten Spot" in (The Outlaw Josey Wales) ... or further down the cast list, we find Dennis Hopper (Hang 'Em High), uncredited.

Quote
Johnny: How many men have you forgotten?
Vienna: As many women as you've remembered.

Something's a little off in the logic of that quote, but you know what she means ...  ??? :o  ;)
