Was Harry Dean Stanton doing movies as early as 1951. ???

Yes he was ...according to www.allmovie.com .

It`s A Big Country was his second film Father Of The Bride(`50)being his first .

It`s quite possible since he was born 1926...again accordin to allmovie.com  ;)

According to the IMDb, the Stanton who appeared in It's a Big Country (uncredited) was Harry Stanton (1901-1978), not Harry Dean Stanton (1926- ). The "mini-biography" for Harry Dean Stanton on the same site also says ...

His first role onscreen was in the tepid Tomahawk Trail (1957),

Susannah York was in En håndfull tid (Martin Asphaug, 1990) with Nigel Hawthorne (Firefox). What were the odds these two would meet in a Norwegian-Swedish co-production!  :o

Back with a new one soon ...

Holden, were you looking for something more challenging than Ms. Astor's last screen appearance, in Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964)? Also appearing in that were Bruce Dern (Hang 'Em High) and George Kennedy (Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, The Eiger Sanction).

If we're looking for the obscure, how about this.

Clint Eastwood was in The First Traveling Saleslady with Jeffrey Sayre was in Youngblood Hawke with Mary Astor.

That's a good one, Gino, though we don't usually use the pre-Dollars films in these games!  :)

Well, Holden never objected to my original reply so I guess it must have been good enough. And we need a new one here.

How about the author of the English-language dialogue for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly ... Mickey Knox? (As an actor, of course.)
