can some nice person tell me what the name and the title of the song played at the start of heartbreak ridge i always thought it was sea of heart break but can find no reference to it

Hi, Teddy, and welcome to the board. The song is indeed titled "Sea of Heartbreak." "Heartbreak" is written as one word here, which may explain why you had trouble finding references to it. It was written by Hal David and Paul Hampton, and the version in the movie was performed by Don Gibson (originally recorded in 1961). Others have recorded it, including the Everly Brothers and Johnny Cash.
