Whats everyones favourite Clint western?

Mines Unforgiven.

I know some people will say that Josey Wales is a far superior film but I just dont see it :-\. I'll agree their both great films, but how exactly is Josey Wales a superior film? ???

Either way, whats your favourite Clint western?

Neither!  GBU!  (ducking from KC )

Seriously, I haven't watched Unforgiven in a few months, and I've been in a real Leone and Morricone mood lately, so GBU is my favorite right now.

I consider all three:  Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wales and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly masterpieces.  I can't find fault with any of them.  But, the music in GBU and having Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef in the cast ... and yes (Agent  ;)) Leone's directing style, just makes this one so much fun to watch... it's not better than the other two, but it's completely entertaining.

favorite?  hmm.

That's tougher than it sounds.  I'll say, tied for first, and then:

1. GBU
1. Unforgiven
3. The Outlaw Josey Wales
4. High Plains Drifter
5. Fistful of Dollars
6.For a Few Dollars More
7. Two Mules for Sister Sara
8. Pale Rider
9. Hang 'em High
10. Joe Kidd

I've never been able to decide between Unforgiven and The Outlaw Josey Wales as my favorite of all. So, here's a little list of some:

1. Unforgiven
1. The Outlaw Josey Wales
3. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
4. High Plains Drifter
5. For a Few Dollars More
6. A Fistful of Dollars
7. Two Mules for Sister Sara
8. Pale Rider
9. Hang 'em High
10. Joe Kidd

I reckon I've run out of westerns to list now. ;)

Wow, Doug, I noticed my list is somewhat similar to yours.

What films were you studying at age two?  Gumby?  Or maybe Barney:  Live in Tokyo?   ;D

Or was that supposed to say age 12?  ;)

Seriously, welcome to the board.  I believe you're the youngest around these parts at the moment.

High Plains Drifter IS a great film Walt. It's on my list of favorites! I'd place Unforgiven and The Outlaw Josey Wales above it, but that's a really interesting choice for a favorite Clint Eastwood western, and quite unusual. I like it!  8)

Without question Josey is his coolest western, an avenger made in the fires of war. With FOUR six shooters and a sharpes rifle.

"Unforgiven" is my favorite Eastwood western. It's not only the best western I have ever seen, but one of the best films I have seen period. :)

I am the ame way, for years I liked the outlaw Josey Wales, but now swing toward Unforgiven. In my opinion it is far more raw than tojw.
