Well, my reason for posting this is that I'm a huge Elvis fan. I have heard that the lead role in Elvis' 1969 western Charro was offered to Clint and he turned it down, and when Elvis took the role it was 'made tame' by taking out most of the violence so it would be suitable to his teen audience. So, is there any truth to this??????

I can't remember, I've read many books about Elvis over the years and for some reason, I thought about this today.

By the way Is Charro worth watching ???
I`ve noticed that they have a copy of it in video rental store near me and I´ve been wondering should I rent it.

Well, it's definetley not a typical Presley flick, but it's no Flaming Star or King Creole (his two best films, IMO) either. Yeah, it's worth watching.
