With all the film versions of classic TV shows these days (Starsky and Hutch being the most recent), how about Clint directing and possibly playing a small part in a film adaptation of Rawhide????????

That would definitely be cool.  Any excuse for a decent western on the big screen!  (I just wish the tv series would make it's way to dvd)

Trouble is, a film version of Rawhide would inevitably be seen as a remake of Red River, and what would be the point of doing that?  ???

Well, that would probably depend on the premise, but it would have to differ a lot.

Good reference, KC.  Red River is a great western-was Rawhide based on that movie?  Sure, why not do a Rawhide movie?  Look at Pale Rider; a thinly disguised Shane & High Plains Drifter.
