America was the hero.
Firefox and Space Cowboys could be classified as sc-fi, and is probably as close as he'll ever get to sci-fi again.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I remember him saying he didn't like doing sci-fi movies (or movies with lots of visual effects and such) on the
Space Cowboys
DVD. He remembered how much trouble he had to go through with
Firefox
and that's why he didn't do another one for a long time. Which would also probably explain why they spent about 20 minutes in space.
