This dog is not allowed on the bed.  So it's owner installed a camera to check what happens when the dog stays at home alone......

My Best Cat Ever (except for all my other previous ones) Sweetie Pie Tiger beamed up in early November after too short of a lifetime. A gray stripe tabby. After seeing him straying around here for a couple of months, he kind of popped up out of nowhere beside me as I was walking along, and caught me so I could be his man. Those 4 years were too short but were really good years. Im beginning to be getting over it now and will probly get another one sometime. It aint easy.

God rest ye merry, Sweetie Pie.

I'm an old man and have known and loved a number of lovely cats and dogs. Stands to reason I would outlive them and mourn them. It always really hammers me when they leave.

I expect to see them again in Heaven where every tear will be wiped dry.

And every one of the cat pets and dog pets always turn out to be really special. Every one has a recognizably unique and special personality. There is genuinely somebody home in our animal friends.

Almost forgot again

I recently read a book that I recommend to every animal lover. It is written from the point of view of a dog who is owned by a racing car driver. in other words it is narrated by the dog.

It is an excellent read. And who knows.....It could explain some things....

The Art Of Racing In The Rain.
Author Garth Stein.

There's a pretty dog on the cover. I'm still too computer dumb to take a photo of it and post it. Maybe soon.

A lovely line.

Quote
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes ...
—Revelation 21:4

Quote
There entertain him all the Saints above,
In solemn troops, and sweet Societies
That sing, and singing in their glory move,
And wipe the tears for ever from his eyes.

Not sure if it's the same cover as yours, TMWNA.

Same dog! I got my book in a Goodwill second-hand bookstore, a paperback edition. You porbly have the hardback. While yours shows the side view, my paperback shows a front-on view, revealing the dog's heartwarming soulful eyes looking straight into my own eyes and my own soul. So I also recommend anybody looking at the cover of the paperback.

I appreciate you picking me up when I popped out (a US baseball expression) and did not post a picture, Schofield.

So, you might have a fancy for dog friendship too? They are certainly wonderful creatures.

Such wonderful and reassuring quotations. Bless you for finding them and posting them. Of course they apply to every loved one and not only our beloved animals.

There is, I think, a very similar quotation from the Old Testament. I have forgotten exactly where. Lord God is speaking in the mouth of a prophet. Perhaps Isaiah. Perhaps David in a Psalm. Must look it up soon.

When the time comes, I will really enjoy having my tear of sadness due to the absence of my beloved cat wiped dry, and once again playing paper ball with the little athlete. Edit: The little Olympian athlete.

Sorry TMWNA, I haven't got the book or own a dog. I just posted the pic after you said you couldn't.  :)

Here it is.

"He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it."  Bible (Old Testament) Isaiah 25:8.

Box score of dogs and cats I have known and loved and will see again when the time comes:

Cats.....30 more or less, in all the excitement I have lost count myself.

Dogs....15 more or less, you know, in...............

Please know that stats reflect pure luck; I have always rescued strays and never bought or even stole an animal. So my animal friendships reflect Karma, destiny, and the will of the Lord in His happenstance blessing me with beautiful animal friendship.

Right now I am "between pets" but feel like I will survive until the next lovely little friend comes by.

Always been a cat person but it seems I'm a bit allergic. We bought a house now so there would be room for a allergy friendly dog. Would be nice to have a furry friend in that big house of ours.. :)

Thanks KC! 😎 I'm super happy.

The thing is though, not every cat gives me allergies. I had two but I gave them up. I'm not sure if was only the other one that made my eyes itch so much. According to allergy tests, I'm not allergic to cats. I get to play with the cat that lives with my boyfriends brother. ☺️

But a dog it's going to be. I would love to have a Coton De Tulear. Furry little snowballs with button etes. Who could resist? 😍
