This is in my opinion the only character Clint could and should play again.I think it would be succesful,despite Clint's age.Of course,it wouldnt hurt to have someone else play Dirty Harry.

Harry Callahan was an awesome character, and the dead pool wasnt such a good way of eding a great series, but I still voted no.

Im sorry, Clint is too old to play that role, and it has run its course already...whats gonna be the tag line?

No but seriously, I dont think theres any script that would suit Harry beeing a 73 year old, I just cant see that happening. And another thing I wouldnt wanna see, is all the young people that have never heard of Harry seeing this as their first dirty harry film and going like "what the heck is Dirty Harry?"
 It would be a terrible descision I think.

I really liked Harry Callahan, but I honestly think its too late.

I don't think it's necessary, but I also don't think the world ends if he does another one.  To suggest otherwise is to show a distinct lack of imagination.  (73 may be too old for a cop, but when did Harry ever need the force to solve a case?)

Since it obviously would have to be a very different film from what has preceded it, the age issue is irrelevant.  The public has said as much already.  I can't remember a similar situation where, in interview after interview, an actor was continually asked if he would ever reprise a role that he played years earlier, but without any hint that he is now too old.  (Harrison Ford also has a character he will forever be known as, and has similarly been asked 'when and if' for years now- but always with the age question not far behind it.)

As I expressed in another thread, there seems to be an unspoken belief that another film such as this would somehow affect Eastwood's ability to be taken seriously as a filmmaker.  This is the same sort of revisionist lunacy that leads people to grope for the deeper meaning of a film like Every Which Way but Loose.

Of course, I don't for a moment hold my breath that, at 73, he might do another one.  In many ways, the late 90's (or as the follow-up to Space Cowboys) may have offered the last chance for him, physically, to be able to do one which retained the trademark action of the series.

I think it would be very bad idea if Eastwood would do another Dirty Harry.The last one The Dead Pool was bad enough.
And the idea that somebody else would  play Harry Callahan...yup that too is a bad idea.There`s not an actor in the world that could fill Eastwood`s shoes.

Thats exactly why it would be interesting Jake.An old Harry Callahan would probably have different approach then the younger one.He'd have other problems.I guess Eastwood already toyed that idea in "Bloodwork".A retired cop who solves murders.It still would work i say.

Same formula as he used in Unforgiven.   The 90's version of Clint, calmer, more mature, old, and then something brings out the true character at the end.  

Would Eastwood do another western if Unforgiven wasn't so good?   I bet he would.

Shame to end the series with The Dead Pool.

my main reason for a new dirty harry movie is the same as a lot of other has written.
The Death pool should NOT be the last dirty harry movie

The thought of him as an older harry,(maybe promoted so high up in the hierachy that he dont know what he can do since being a chief is so much different than being a street cop) trying to get back in the action despite red tape an politics (and of course doing it)
would be a nice ending to the harry saga.
the thing about old cops feeling the age wearing them down, while they are trying to do their job was one of the reasons i liked a movie like lethal weapons 4 much better than the third

  The Dead pool should never of happened in the first place, it was simply a payback to Warners for funding one of Clint's personal projects.
Clint didn't want to make another Harry, that was obvious for all to see.
