I am very familiar with Arnold Schwarzenegger films. I think that his best period in cinema is from 1982 (Conan the Barbarian) to 1994 (True Lies). Among his best films, I would quote the two Terminator films directed by James Cameron, Predator directed by John McTiernan and Total Recall (his biography was named after that film) directed by Paul Verhoeven. He also did some nice films like Commando, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Last Action Hero and True Lies. Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to live the American dream and in many ways, he made it. I remember that he was very popular back in the nineties. I was a teenager then. My friends were interested in his films. Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone were popular too. I liked those actors too but Clint was by far my favorite one. Many friends of mine thought that Clint was too old for them. But I did not care about their opinions. By the way, Arnold Schwarzenegger said that Clint was a great inspiration for him and considered him as a great man of cinema.

I'm really not a fan of his movies. I think I admire him more for the success he's had outside of the film industry. I think his best film is the original "Terminator." This is likely influenced by my own background, but I absolutely hated "True Lies." I think "True Lies" had some of the most offensive portrayals of Arab/Muslim characters that I've ever seen in an American film to date. I did only see it once though, a very long time ago, but I do remember being very upset by the film, and that is very unusual for me.
About True Lies, I think that it works better as a comedy. Even if there are many action sequences. The best part of the film is the scenes in which Jamie Lee Curtis is involved and the scenes where Arnold Schwarzenegger is worried about his marriage. Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a good chemistry. About the most offensive portrayals of Arab/Muslim characters that I have ever seen in an American film, there is also Delta Force (1986), directed by Menahem Golan, starring Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin.

Hocine, I've never seen "Delta Force," or any other movie with Chuck Norris. This is because I am not really a fan of Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, etc. I have always felt that Eastwood's films explored themes that are typically not delved into too deeply, or at all, by the other action movie stars, so they have always been more thought-provoking for me and more interesting to watch.
