My favorite movie I watched in all of last year was The Night Stalker, which was a 1972 TV movie that led to a sequel and then a TV series called Kolchak. I rewatched those movies last month (and I'm making my way through the series too, some of which I've already seen), and I watched Duel again, which was also a TV movie. So this has led me to start seeking out horror/thriller TV movies from the 1970s. It's too bad the major TV networks don't do this sort of thing anymore. I've read that TV movies just aren't considered to be very profitable for them now. I don't know--Hallmark does all right with them (by the way, I don't list them on my movie journal but I do watch some of the Hallmark mystery movies and enjoy those). I watched a few of those older movies last month and am going to watch more, but the standouts have been Home for the Holidays and The Last Child, both of which were directed by the same director as The Night Stalker. I feel like this is a quirky thing to suddenly get into.
