Very good film.  Enjoyed it very much.  The chemistry between Deniro and Hathaway was very good!  Also had some funny enjoyable parts as well.

I just watched it last night.  I found it fascinating.  Who knew this was going on?  After 50 years, the British finally released the Top Secret mission these men had in World War II and the impact their mission had on the war.  Not only was it very informative but Alan Turing, the main genius of the group, was indeed a very tragic human being.

If you are a history buff, you will probably find this movie and true story well worth your time.

I agree, that was an excellent film—though I thought the screenplay was kind of A-B-C and not really deserving of the Oscar it won. I'd have given the Oscar to Cumberbatch, but then I like him in anything he does.

If you liked it, though, you may want to check out the TV series The Bletchley Circle, the adventures of some of the women who had worked on the codebreaking project during the war, who get caught up in murder investigations in postwar London, still with their super-sharp intellects and unusual skills at the ready, but without any real use for them in everyday life, and without being able to talk about their wartime achievements, even to family members.

I've never seen Cumberbatch in anything else.  Probably should check him out and compare his acting roles.  He certainly was outstanding in The Imitation Game but, when you've never seen the actor before, it's a little harder to know how difficult a performance may have been for him.

I'll see if I can find The Bletchley Circle and watch it.  I'm not used to "being around" such intellects but I sure enjoyed being challenged to try and keep up with them.  The knowledge and skills they had were so quick and so far "out there" that no one could ever know how really smart they were.  To me, it's absolutely amazing what they did to help Britain and its allies against Hitler.

So glad someone recommended it to me.

Tomorrowland - I watched it twice it was good.  I especially like Britt Robertson (I first saw her in The Dome)   



Bridge of Spies - Teared up at the end when dad came down the hero...

Army of Darkness - Fun

The Cup - I love horse racing movies.  This one was about the Melourne cup.

An American in Paris - I am a sucker for old school musicals and Leslie Caron

Fletch (1985)



I haven't sat and watched this in 29 years.  So glad I had the opportunity to see it again with my best friend yesterday.  Lots of fun.  Very funny, humorous film.  Chevy Chase was great in this.

Another memorable role: the repressed aristocrat Christopher Tietjens in the BBC/HBO miniseries based on Ford Madox Ford's WWI-era epic Parade's End.

Fletch (1985)



I haven't sat and watched this in 29 years.  So glad I had the opportunity to see it again with my best friend yesterday.  Lots of fun.  Very funny, humorous film.  Chevy Chase was great in this.

I love watching Fletch to Jed!  Some how I lost my dvd so Im going to have to buy another one.  But it is hysterical no doubt.  Vintage Chase, he was meant for that role no doubt.

Bridge of Spies

Good movie!  Tom Hanks great of course. I let my parents watch it and they really enjoyed it because they grew up during that time.

This film was so stupid and absurd but I couldn't stop laughing throughout. Jerry Stiller steals the show.

Switch your brain off and you'll have some fun.

I watched the longest ride because of Britt Robertson and later discovered that the male lead was Scott Eastwood...  Coincidence???  I think not...

I saw both when they first came out. Both are very funny.  This time, I'm sure because I was watching with my best friend, Ted was so funny my stomach hurt from laughing so much.

It was a Nicholas Sparks book (The Notebook) so it was real romantic and what not.  It was good - watched it with the wife.
