Two-hour bus tour to explore 'Hidden Secrets of Fort Ord'CSU-Monterey Bay's Fort Ord Alumni Association will offer a tour of the "Hidden Secrets of Fort Ord" on Oct. 15.The public is invited to tour seldom-seen places on the historic former Army base, where 2 million people -- including Clint Eastwood, Jerry Garcia and Elvis Presley -- went through basic training before the installation was closed. CSUMB, which opened its doors in 1994, occupies about 1,400 acres of the former base.The two-hour guided bus tour will make stops at the stockade, where Army protesters and deserters were held during the Vietnam War; the Impossible City, an urban warfare training zone; and the East Garrison area.Held in conjunction with the Marina Air Faire, the buses will load at the Marina Airport on Reservation Road and depart every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each tour will take about two hours.
