how could  a man called clint eastwood who did not smoke and was allergic to horses become worlds greatest cowboy actor director?

Because he wasn't, in fact, allergic to horses? (See Schickel's Clint Eastwood, p. 284.)

i remember reading somewhere that the man was allergic to horses, anyway what about smoking you need to smoke a lot if you are acting in a western.
