Hmm, sloe gin!  That reminds me of my childhood, picking sloes in the Norfolk hedgerows for my mum to make gin.  I don't drink, but they say it's good, and it always had a beautiful deep, rich, purple colour in her jars lined up in the cupboard.  Anything tastes better when you've gathered it yourself.

Great poem, KC.  Housman is a favourite of mine. O0

Hello y'all BTW. :D  Great to see the old CEWB members still rockin' while I've been neglecting the best board on the web.  Hope everyone is well. :)

These are some old pictures that a friend sent me. They are from 2002. This is my old band (Gutwrench) and the guy in the middle of both pictures is me.

Thanks you all. I did cut it about 3 years ago. Austin was younger and he could and did grab handfuls at a time. I think about growing it long again sometimes.

Those photos look fantastic AB O0.

But when I click on them, they don't enlarge. :(

They enlarge from the thumbnails. Then if you click on them, you get the next picture. Is that what you mean, Southern cat?

Great pictures, by the way, AB. What would Louis XIV have thought about Jeff Koons, though? ??? :D

They did not enlarge from the thumbnails to start with, but now it's working fine. :D

I honestly don't know, but there's worse ... here, take a look at his other pieces that are on display inside the chateau.
That lobster thing?  :P :P I mean, this is Versailles. Not your neighbor's backyard.

AB,  Fantastic pictures.  I just love the black and white ones.   You really need to take photography further.

Looking through the trees to the village church from the river bank.   I took these Sunday 19th Oct.

Fungi growing on a fallen willow tree.

  Swans on the river.

The spot where the bridge was washed away some 80 years ago.

Yeah, he turned Swan Lake into Moon River!  :D

Nice photos once again Lin! Very pretty landscapes!!

^^ Thanks, Lin. I'm trying. First I need a new cam  :-\

A good camera helps but you definitely know how to compose a photo regardless. I doubt anyone ever asked Van Gogh or Rembrandt what kind of brushes they used. ;)

I spent the last seven weeks doing some work for the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. I managed to get a "little" fun time in.  The mountains in the area are perhaps not quite as spectacular as other parts of the Rockies but they are gorgeous neverless. Especially in Autumn.

Could it be? Aaaah, no.

Played "Blondie" in the Great Sand Dunes: Tuco was no help as usual:

Oh, and I made a vid or two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkPUu5K8k9E

Beautiful pics, you guys!  8)

Ahah Cvw, you got buried under a TON of sand and Tuco did not come to your rescue lol shame. For a second I really thought you did get buried under all that sand (Wait. You didn't, right?  :D) I was like wow he'd do just about ANYthing for a picture. THAT's commitment! lol  :D

Lin, I really like that last picture. What's the orange color in the river? Rocks? Mud? Both?  :D Anyway, it looks really nice.

Thanks, CvW. Still using a basic digital cam. My parents'. Mine broke. New cam is on my Christmas wish list  ;) Something bigger. Most likely a DSLR. I want a fish eye lens too

No AB, I didn't get buried under all that sand. I emptied about a ton of sand out of my boots though!
I hope Santa brings you exactly what you want!

I visited Taos, New Mexico a couple of times and saw a variety of architecture.  From the "modern" homes of the Earthship people:

To the older structures of Taos Pueblo:

On my way back I saw a very pretty aspen grove and stopped to take a few pictures. To my dismay I saw that several people had carved their names in the bark of some of the trees. Does anyone here know anything about this?
