I picked up the Magnum Force soundtrack today, adding to my Eastwood soundtrack collection.  I picked up Dirty Harry shortly after it was released last year.  Has anyone else picked these up?  What do you think?  I'm very happy with them.

Does anyone know if The Enforcer, Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool will also be released in similar fashion?  That would be "very stylish"!  8)

There was some discussion of this in the news forum when the Magnum Force CD came out.

http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/index.php?topic=4442.0

I said then that The Enforcer was slated for release, but I don't know how that has come along.

I'd love to have the Sudden Impact soundtrack, which, as Philo pointed out to me, is the next Lalo Schifrin score. 8)

Thanks, Lily.

The closest you'll come to owning music from Sudden Impact is this, if you can find it:

I own the three CD's you mentioned, Coop and I'm very pleased with them as well. I love the Dirty Harry scores.

That was the first one I bought.

Can't wait for Sudden Impact and The Enforcer to be released.

Maybe 2006?  :-\

I keep looking for them on Amazon and Screen Archives, but nothing ... yet  ;)

Very cool.  Are the songs on it the same as the Dirty Harry Anthology?  I can't remember.

SUDDEN IMPACT AND THE BEST OF DIRTY HARRY!

Lalo Schifrin and Jerry Fielding
Recorded: 1971-1983. Issued: 1983
I first heard about this LP here and decided to "investigate"...Not bad really, but I never cared for THE ENFORCER music a lot.  Don't get me wrong, I just didn't think it fit well with Lalo Schifrin's music.

Sudden Impact - 2:52
This Side Of Forever - 4:03
Unicorn's Head - 2:38
Robbery Suspect - 2:12
Dirty Harry's Creed - 3:25
Main Title From Magnum Force - 2:07
Scorpio - 3:06
Rooftop Chase - 2:23
Alcatraz Encounter - 2:00
Main Title From The Enforcer - 1:59

THE DEAD POOL: THE ULTIMATE DIRTY HARRY COLLECTION

Lalo Schifrin/Jerry Fielding/Lennie Niehaus
Recorded: 1971-1988. Issued: 2004.
This should definitely be released here.  This has all the music.  It was released in Europe and you can purchase it for 39.99 (Euros) At Hurricane Records.

I hope they release THE DEAD POOL soundtrack real soon.

DIRTY HARRY
Harry's Creed - 3:00
Scorpio's Theme - 3:06
The Mayor - 2:21

Dirty Harry (James Taylor Quartet) - 4:31

MAGNUM FORCE
Main Title - 2:07
The Cop - 1:57
Stakeout - 2:30
The Crooks - 1:34

Thanks for the info, Glenny.  That's useful. 8)

That is one of your bug bears, ain't it Gant?!   I reckon some dumbo in the publicity department thought it would be a good idea to use pics of a younger looking Clint, as Sudden Impact was the first Dirty Harry film in which he is noticeably older than the original Callahan.  Or maybe they were just getting lazy with an ongoing series that was sure to make money. ::)

Either way, it annoys me too.

And here...

...they've used the Sudden Impact poster for a CD with the title The Dead Pool. >:(

Anyone that uses a picture from Dirty Harry (1971) on the back of the DVD cover for Tightrope (1984) is not lazy but stupid.

I'm sorry...I don't mean to go off topic but: Why was The Dead Pool music not in the Dirty Harry Anthology?

And I'm sorry I keep talking about The Dead Pool music...I just like it A LOT :(

Hello Glenny, thought it best if I tried to clear a few things up here.
Firstly, this is not an official release:

So no attention should be made to the reference of using Clint's face from The Enforcer / Sudden Impact for this Bootleg release of The Dead Pool.

The 4 tracks from the Enforcer have been taken from Vinyl source probably, such as the official LP you have Sudden Impact and the Best of Dirty Harry

I talk with the Schifrin's on a fairly regular basis both Lalo and his wife Donna and their daughter-in-law Theresa, and they are aware of this release. That's all I can say on the matter.

I can confirm that Sudden Impact will be released and it will be an official release on the Aleph record label, and probably in the coming year. I cannot confirm at the moment about an official release for The Dead Pool other than if Lalo can release it he surely will. It is a complicated process inc musicians unions and so on, it's quite a lengthy process.

All I can say is, if you are looking for an official release of The Dead Pool, remain patient, as I'm sure it will come.
and will no doubt contain artwork which is related to the actual film ;)

But the one being sold by this German company is NOT OFFICIAL.

Glenny, I fixed your "Hurricane Records" link on the previous page, since it didn't lead directly to the listing for the Dead Pool CD. The site is in English, so no need to go through Google translations! ;)

Thanks for the info, Mary Mary! If Glenny still wants it that desperately and can't wait for an official release, I guess he is free to order the bootlegged goods. It's only the cost of about five movies.

You're very welcome KC, and you are exactly right, the price is quite extortionate, especially when you consider that Aleph endeavour to price their releases so competitively.
A lot of this is down to the trading laws regarding recorded music in Germany, it is a law unto itself, but that's another story altogether.
